Marcel, in the late 1950s I was winding up my active duty Navy service, stationed at N.A.S. Alameda. With a few friends, me in my Triumph TR3, we drove down to Santa Barbara for a Cal Club race weekend. Early next morning in line for tech inspection, who is standing in line directly behind me but Lance Reventlow with a breath-taking blonde lady in a gauzy shimmering white frock, ses seins pressant la soie. She dragged my gaze away from his silver Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa. She was known to Hollywood glitterati as Jill St. John. I'm closing in on my 94th birthday next Insurrection Day, as I have come to call Twelfth Night/January 6, but the memories remain clear.

The changes from the 330 to the 365 GTC were minor excluding the larger engine. The removal of the side vents IMO did not improve the overall exterior design.

9911 in my garage undergoing work to replace suspension bushings. It’s all in progress. Also found significant corrosion at the rear shock upper mounts which will require some surgery (not in my garage…I’ll let the pros handle THAT) to fully repair. Such is life with these beautiful old classics.

I must admit, it’s nice to open the door to the garage and see 9911 sitting there, no matter the state of repairs/maintenance.

Circa 1983 a very nice 330 GTC in front of my first shop. The owner was Rick Ricaldi and we had just finished a complete engine overhaul and were getting ready to deliver the car. It was subsequently sold back to Wide World of Cars and repainted grey. I believe I know who had the car restored but in order to respect his privacy I will leave it at that. Fun car to drive.

There’s no good place for a front license plate. The factory bracket is OK, but not great. I never installed my front plate; It hasn’t been a problem for the last 45+ years.

    I agree, yes.
Unless it is a period correct old Italian one, you know, the small black one.

It's also unfortunate to see more and more vintage Italian cars (Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Fiat, etc) equipped with long (and ugly) rear license plates, when the standard until the 1980s was square plates in Italy, even for imported cars. This should be respected for aesthetic reasons.
Look at a Daytone from the rear with a long plate. Ugly.
Due to their different format, US license plates and some other countries are an exception.

That front plate location is not exactly ideal for cooling either

For cars delivered in the USA, Ferrari made a chrome frame to fit around the rectangular USA rear license plate and included holes and brackets to attach the frame. It looks OK.
