Hey, I am new to this forum and Ferrari's. I am looking at Porsche Turbo S but the looks of the Ferrari 488 gets my heart racing. Currently looking at a 2018 with 24K miles. Should I be concerned about it being modified?

I mod most of the cars anyways, but Ferrari is a different. I do love the looks of this 488 modified by 412 Motorsports but not crazy about the screwed in fender louvers. The car does look amazing. lt also has pure turbos and meth injection, carbon fiber bits, and its lowered on springs.

What do you guys think? Link to the car is below. Thank you for your support.

Not a fan of those fender louvers. Looks very tacked on and cheap - even if functional.

The car will never sell for that price now that its been modified. There is no reason to modify the body of that car, let alone with parts that look like they came from Autozone. It will appeal to people that use the word bro and have bad credit. It appears it went through Mannheim.

^ agreed, hard pass. Even if you could look past the Home Depot louvers, you'd never be able to sell it without taking a bath.

I wonder how high you'd have to be to take a drill to those fenders like that.

I know that car. I'd jump on it for that price if you're into modified cars. Not hard to swap out fenders if you don't like the louvers.

Super clean car, if the minor mods are stopping you from buying it maybe consider shopping for retirement communities like the rest of the responses here. Anybody who will buy that from you will not have the same opinions as an aging forum with an audience of 60+ who are mostly buying boner pills rather than cars now. The fender louvres are clearly functional and on a fast car like this I don’t see a problem. Not like it has underglow and a purple wrap. The owner has some other cool stuff judging by his marketplace and knows how to deal with these cars. I say absolutely go for it. If you wanna deal with boomers telling you how this is the only one Ferrari made without peeling dashes that’s your call, I would rather buy a car that I am happy with and save the 30k in mods. Just my take :)

Modifications to a car should be done to an individuals taste. Getting talked out of buying a car you like the mods on by people that don’t like it is weird. If you like it you like it OP.

OP asks for opinions and then receives them. You sign up for an account and your only contribution in this forum is to attack people on the board. The fender louvers are not like a wrap or under glow. The fender louvers were crudely bolted on the fenders and can't be removed because the fenders were damaged. Perhaps you are the owner of the car? You're probably looking at a minimum $20k in damages. It is like taking a crayon to improve on a $300k painting. Like what I wrote, these mods are likely to be appreciated by the bro crowd and your use of "boomer" certainly confirms that stereotype.

We've seen your type here on these boards many times. You try to overprice a poorly modded Ferrari, defend it rather crudely and then wonder in 3 years why you still haven't sold it. Then one day, quietly, the car is sold for roughly half of what you wanted. Reminds me of the teal 458 Liberty Walk bolt on. That slingblade was arrogant as well with his mods. Classic case of FAFO. You want to permanently damage a Ferrari with your personal tastes, that's your right, but don't expect a premium in the market or even for the car to sell at market value.

People can do whatever they want to their cars, but you can't make the market like what you've done. The car screams bad credit to me and its why the car had to go through Mannheim and then ended up at a buy here pay here version of an exotic reseller.

Lastly, people here don't live in retirement communities, they own them. The subject car here should sell for a little more than what a C7 Z06 sells for, that's about it.

If Ferrari felt there was a need to reduce pressure under the wheel wells they would have incorporated a means of achieving this. Clearly that is not the case so the individual who fitted these louvers did so purely with aesthetics in mind. Each to their own, but to me they look hideous and would be an extremely costly exercise to put back to stock.

It's not the fender louvre ...it's how that other car has installed them. This photo you posted is of a wind tunnel designed and tested for proper aero by Ferrari and Michelotto Automobili Ferrari 488 GT3 Type F142M.

Seriously though, what was the owner thinking here exactly? This has to go down as one of the very worst mods I've ever seen on a Ferrari. This must have been done by Fred Flintstone Speed Shop.

From your post, and the fact that this is your one and only post, it seems like you have a vested interest in this vehicle. If so, you should just be upfront with your relationship to this car instead of hiding it and then defending the mods done to it so vigorously. Sorry, but the car is an abomination.
