Has anyone installed this head unit? If so were you able to install without splicing wires?

I just purchased Blaupunkt's retro radio to replace my original Blaupunkt. I don't always listen to music when I drive but I want the option and my old stereo died. I want to keep the original look. I'm HOPING the connectors are the same in the back for the speakers and power etc. The new stereo has 50w a channel. I don't want to throw an amp and have tons of wires all over. So to get a little more sound I will use a high quality 3 ohm speaker which should give me another 17 watts. probably not enough to notice. I plan to use Gladen Audio RS165 Slim speakers. I use Gladens 3ohms in my McLaren and got more high quality sound without having to upgrade the amp.

Yep that's an 80's look for sure! I'm glad Blaupunkt made retro head units. I really didn't want a new modern look. Glad to hear you didn't need an amp. Using the 3ohm speakers will give me maximum sound without the amp.
