I own a 2006 F430 and have driven the 599. If you want nimble and sexy then go with the F430. If you want amazing power with a GT feel then try the 599.

I second this as a F430 owner whos driven a 599 multiple times. F430 is way more nimble and sportscar, the 599 is a full on super GT, awesome for holidays and weekend trips

I love the 430 but it’s too similar to the 360. Both the 360/430 are not super enjoyable driving experiences. I own a few other cars and I find myself after a half hour or more ready to get out of my 360. The 599 is massively underrated, it is a true executive GT cruiser that speaks volumes of class and refinement. The interior is also light years better than a 430. I never see 599’s on the road but if I were in a 430 and a 599 pulled up next to me, I would lust for the 599 more than if I had the 599 and pulled up on a 430.

360 to F430 is better described as like a BMW 430 vs M4 similar yes, but not really. F430 is more race car, 599 more GT car. So what do you want from your car?

I think in answer to your question, 430 is more exciting than a 599 and is an upgrade from a 360, with more power and torque, stiffer structure, nicer interior. 599 is a different type of car with that V12. I didn't find it exciting exactly, but it has effortless power, long limbed ability, satisfaction, and also much quicker steering than its predecessors which gives it a similarity to the midengined cars.

It's not a like for like comparison. As the owner of a manual 430 and a manual 575 with Fiorano Handling Pack I often get asked which I prefer and it's like comparing a great Meursault with a To Kalon Cabernet. They just do different things beautifully.

But if the question is about excitement, the 430 has masses of it. A 599 isn't really built to excite unless you're on a track.

I always find it interesting when people talk about the power of a F-430 against a 360.I honestly don’t get the interior argument either. 400hp is plenty of power for the streets and I am a guy who has owned single upgraded turbo MKIV Supra’s. You are in denial if you think a 430 is a better car in any shape or form. Most go for the 430 over a 599 due to fear of the potential repair costs of a V12 and maintenance. I personally am one of those guys scared of V12 costs. Red on a 599 might be the only Ferrari that doesn’t look good in red but I saw a silver 599 in person with yellow calipers and it was an amazing sight and I hate silver cars usually. Now all you 430 owners can bash me : )

I said it before and I'll say it again... if the engine is not behind you... why bother. Maybe just get a nice Beemer :)

Yea, this is a goofy statement. I guess 812 owners should trade in for a Beamer…

Agreed, and it is strange that Ferrari decided to abandon the mid-engine V12 except in high dollar low production applications....such that the new front engined V12's closest competitor....is an Aston Martin? Crazy times....

Did see my first new design AM Vantage on the road the other day......damn that has to be close to, if not, the best modern car design. My jealousy meter was pegged that I wasn't the one driving it.

I like them Astons too, must be some of the most beautiful cars on the road... even the old V8 Vantage, and DB9s great looking

I’d go for the v12 for something different.

Some incredible points here. I love both, part of me wants the 430 and part of me really wants to go into the 599 spaceship!!!

500 bhp NA mid engine screaming V8 is just about perfect for the road. Porsche have only just caught up in the last few years with there mainstream models!

But its not just power, its just better in everyway. But we are all entitled to our opinions even if its all about sponsoring the cars we own!
