I know it’s a great car but Chris Harris just did a new video on YouTube about the 296 GTS and says plainly it the best Ferrari they currently offer. Quite a statement from a good reviewer

I was surprised how he ragged on the SF 90.

I got a weekend of driving mine and I just don’t have words. After 7 Porsches and 1 Lamborghini I think I have a little experience in nice cars. But I just can’t describe what this car does or how good this car is.
And side note how many people come to tell me how beautiful this car is car is.

He bought a used 458 spider and has experience as an owner.

He has gained a lot of weight. Did n't recognize him!

He should have addressed that inconsistency in the latter made video, thats on him. Overall I still appreciate his input.

I heard there are lots of unsold 296 on offer in the UK. Chris’ review may help to move them. Just gonna leave this here.

So the Ferrari he tests last is always the best one - I hope the next one will be the F80 rather than the PuroSangue :p

Chris Harris has gained a lot of weight recently- we all (or most of us anyway) have that problem as we age- but he is now 2 for 2 stating that the Ferrari he is currently reviewing is the best car they make. He has either finally drunk the Ferrari Kool Aid ( as most of us on this site have) or divine intervention has corrected his prior abnormal British is Best Brain Bungle.

Honestly the ONLY thing that would make the 296 even better would be a special version of it.

And he wasn't even testing a model with the Assetto Fiorano package nor with Cup 2 Rs, which for the type of review he's done, would have made it even more unbelievable. And... he didn't even mention the engineering marvel of being able to go EV for 15 miles.

Well, I've been fortunate to own several Ferraris, 2 GT3s, and the ML 600LT for 3 yrs now. I've driven the 296 GTS now for 3 months (which I traded my F8T for) and 2k miles, on the street, on the mountain pass and at the track. I can confidently say the 296 is really that good. Plenty of power, extremely well balanced, funnnnnnn as hell, grippy as hell, even relatively comfortable with the AF package, gorrrrrgeous, brakes are phenomenal... Hasn't skipped a beat and given me one single issue. Hard to fault it any anything, when used for easy or hard rides.

The only thing for me is the sound. It does sound good in stock form considering it's V6, but it's still fairly muted to my taste, especially given its 800+ HP, and when compared to the also modern MLs, Lambos or the GT3s. I've been able to improve it a bit with the Capristo's 250 cats, but I'm still not 100% there. May need to go with Capristo's tailpipe conversion to up it 3dbs or full Novitec. Or maybe I'll just get used to it and will be ok...

Net, net, I'm loving it and it's as close to a perfect car as I've ever had.

I've owned both the 296 and the SF90 (both coupes), and they are both incredible. I still give the edge overall to the SF90, but when price is added to the equation, things become much less clear.

I must say I abandoned the “baby” Ferraris after the 488 for the “adult” 812 mainly due to the lack of sound with the F8. The 296 is calling to me and although I have never owned a red Ferrari- the 296 happens to look real good in red. The 12C is not appealing to me in current state so my next Ferrari may be the baby of the bunch.

I mused the same thing, his prior review was positive but not exactly effusive. More reserved. And to drop 48 hours before the VS reveal appears to be intentional. I get it, they need to move these things from dealers in Europe/UK and the US.

I own an 812 GTS. The great thing about having this one and the 296 is that they’re very different to each other. The 812 is the ultimate sports GT and the 296 is much more agile and the more racy of the two.

I have similar thinking owing a 458 and F12. However, yesterday my 11 year-old-niece asked me why I have two Ferraris and I began explaining my reasoning which, as I would learn, sounds incredibly stupid once you say it out loud.

oh the billion dollar debate… what if I could only keep one??? I was so certain on the 812 given how special and complete the V12 is. But the 296 is simply a much more fun driving experience, especially in GTS format. I think I’m with you.

I guess he's reaching a time in his life where he needs to generate a better return. He's fronting cars on Collecting Cars auction site from time to time and he's clearly promoting Ferrari products - good driver and has a good presentation style. Form my own view on cars but enjoy his videos which, are informative up to a point and entertaining.

Ferrari dropped the finance rate to 4.75% and shifted most of them.

  23. That's sort of how we describe older cars vs. newer ones ...

Wait until you drive it. The 12c is significantly better than the 812
