so what do you all think ??? also why would they name it a 296 speciale, when there is a sf90 speciale (base car vs the xx race street weapon) ....
I removed the other thread for now, someone had reposted images from somewhere else that broke the embargo. You can talk about the car, you can post links, but for now don't repost any of those photos. Thanks!
Does the new model 296S get the bigger brakes package from the SF90XX? THOSE F80 wheels are a curious choice.
the same as the normal car but bigger ducting for better cooling has revised abs though - ABS Evo, which acts on the carbon ceramic braking hardware and uses a ‘6D’ sensor to gauge the optimum level of slip and make best use of available grip as well as "Side Slip Control 9.0, SCM, FDE2.0 and an eDiff" lots of electronics at play here
I'm unclear exactly what car and what images. Miami was on a call with Ferrari this morning and it came up there had been photos posted on another site during the embargo and although removed there, were reposted on FerrariChat. I didn't get the exact thread or photos, but quick scan assumed it was the 296 Speciale. So really no clue right now if that was it and when the request came through, but Miami was still talking to Ferrari as of 8am (so just 2 hours ago). Haven't heard anything since. Safe to now assume if photos are on Ferraris pages, then it is OK.
From Top Gear: The good news is that this isn’t a limited-run car, either. Though there’s a limited time for production (which limits numbers inherently) and you have to be what’s called an ‘active customer’ for Ferrari - so you have to have bought some sort of Ferrari in the past five years. And then be far enough up the waiting list. So if you have €407,000 for the Coupe or €462,000 for the Spider, you’re in luck - with prices varying according to local tax (and tariff) needs.
it's a good and bad thing really, good in the sense everyone gets to buy a car and it encourages peope to actually drive them and not treat them as investments and bad just in terms of depreciation.
Green must be the new red. Between the 296S and the "new" greens on the C8 Corvette, St. Patrick would be jealous.
There's always been something 'off' to me about the 296 - but whatever is different on the Speciale 'fixes' it. I like it.
