My buddy had to buy an F12 on the lot to get a 812 allocation. After a year his spec came and he traded his F12 in to them

I had the buy an 812SF to be eligible for a Pista situation. Unfortunately that never came to fruition and lost 60k when I sold the 812. Dealers will always play games.

Pista looks much better than standard 488
GTO looks much better than standard 599
XX looks much better than standard SF90
296 Speciale dose not impress me much over standard car .... maybe because standard 296 is very nice

    After 4000 - 4500 VS (1350) Spiders.
They did not support 296 - kick in the face to 296 owners.
Hoped / relied for XX replay - zero tied from VS to 296 or to be honest much of anything.

Who knows - seems 2027 next debut, right when the final ones are being delivered which will be what I assumed was the role of VS.
VS is a great car but navigating Ferrari and waiting years - big ask when they don't tether the prior model owners to future. These posts and news outlets are true - unfortunately.

I think you should think less about the respective drivers and much more about special “tire compounds” and “suspension setups”, both of which never find their way into production cars. From this point of view, the ring times are relative and not absolute.

These numbers are correct, I have seen the list of chassis numbers. Believe what you want.

Also independently verified by one of the subcontractors I know in Modena who was producing items for the 599 GTO.

You hope for the opposite just because you don't want to hear the truth, how do you know how long Ferrari will build the car?

My dealer told me less than half of Pista’s numbers will be built and factory wants at least 100k of options FWIW.

That doesn't fit together Spiders will built at least 1300-1500. Would be the same number as the Pista Spider.
Coupés are to be built slightly less. As expected, but no dealer knows the exact numbers. Rough estimates are 2500 Coupés.

The simple reality is the dealers only know what they know. Thats not double speak. It's just that the factory could tell them one thing today, and in some time, they can get updated information. Even the factory probably has some variance in the number they expect to build- what if the market cools? What if it heats up? Etc... Then what?

Get the car you love and can afford. This is the right formula that stands the test of time. I think they did a great job with the 296 Speciale/ A.

Claiming exclusivity is perceived as a good selling point - I remember that initially, there were indications that only 800 Pista would be built...
Anyway, good for the happy buyers if in addition to getting a nice car, they are feeling they are priviledged to have the right to spend their money.

24 hours ago, I liked this car. Today, I love it. The Pista was such a dramatic leap from the 488 that it set expectations very high, which may have led some to feel underwhelmed with this one. But in my view, the 296 already looked significantly better than the 488, so there was simply less room for drastic visual improvement.

That said, Ferrari absolutely delivered where it mattered. The front end now looks more aggressive (296 a bit feminine up front). Performance-wise, the gains are impressive: +60 hp and -60 kg is no small feat. Then the addition of physical buttons on the wheel (biggest complaint with the 296) is a big win. Also, you have a lift system with what is more or less the AF package. What else can you ask for?

While I doubt it will hold value like the Pista or the 458 Speciale, mainly due to the hybrid powertrain, that’s not really the point. This car is about the driving experience and aesthetics, and on both fronts, Ferrari absolutely nailed it.

Truer word never spoken brother. If
Could you elaborate on this more? What did they say? Why didn't you get the car? That's unbelievable that they made you do this and then never gave you the pista. This is honestly my biggest fear. I work way to hard to get conned, and honestly I keep hearing stories about how people never get their cars when making this type of deal. I think im just gonna go for the SVJ or something similar and move past this car.

I told my dealer that I would buy every option they offer and they didn't really say much about that. ironically. Maybe it's just a given at this price point/car I don't really know.
This gives me hope but im still on the fence. Will update everyone in about a week or so!

At that time I had already owned a 458 spider and a 488. Was told that I needed a V12 to qualify for the Pista. Was told don't worry as you won't lose money on the 812 and we should be able to buy it back for what you paid. I asked for something in writing and they laughed as they never do that.

Fast forward, Pista allocations are given out and I waited and waited. Dealer told me that unfortunately I was not selected and that the market had gone south on the 812 and they were sorry but weren't interested in buying it back.

Ferrari has a line around the block of customers that have lots of ferraris and that attend driving school and races and spend lots and lots of money. They gave the initial allocations to those people. Little did every one know that they produced a ton of them and after a few years they were readily available.

knowing the risks of loss ahead of time in ANY game being played means being well prepared for all outcomes. @mkraft3003 You got out with somewhat minimal loss. I don't see myself doing things I don't want just to quality to do something else that I really want. But unfortunately this is THE game. Sometimes it's better to know the game as an observer and just sit it out. There's always some type of game one can play :) Edit: And the house always wins!

For those that got allocations and placed deposits, is there any mandatory requirement to hold onto to your existing 296s as was necessary for the XX?
