sorry to hear your story about owing both and being passed on. Did you buy both cars from the same dealer that you are asking allocation from? Have you asked them or have they asked you to do xyz to get an allocation?

That the end of the 296 cycle calls for a replacement on the same basis ? Yes, Ferrari doesn't live with fresh water :D, and the car is very advance...
    As there were 458 and 488 (458 M in fact), there will be 296 and 296 M.
It started with 308 vs 328 and it continues...

you guys need to let this idea of a third 296 variant go. jesus. this is it. maybe a they will offer an aero pack option or something but that is it. the way the world is moderating itself right now re: emissions maybe exotic car makers will be given the option of non hybrid cars. imagine a 296 replacement with an evolved 800 hp gas engine and no hybrid? just imagine?

Will these special body options be launched with the Piloti model at Le Mans, or am I overlooking them in the configurator?

Actually STO and Huracan are largely different in so many ways starting with the breaking system. Google it. I honestly don't know if the differences between 296 VS and regular 296 is as large.

being as fair and rational as I can muster, they didn’t get many allocations but I assume it’s a top down decision. Yes, both same dealer. And as for asking, I had at least a dozen emails and conversations with dealer GM, FNA regional and national management, even their corporate attorneys, about an allocation.

What did you think of the STO tilt front end idea? Sort of like the F40 arrangement...

Having driven with it several times, and especially with a professional driver at the wheel, I would say that it is an extremely "fair, homogeneous" car at all levels. Everything is perfectly sized and works in perfect harmony, and above all, the car reveals itself with great consistency when the pace rises ...

Given the Temarario has such as advanced engine redlining to 10K, I would venture a guess that Ferrari has to respond with a really aggressive engine in the 296M. :).

I am a bit disappointed that they did not turn the wick up on the Speciale engine and have it rev to 9K or 9.2K like the F80...or perhaps they have but no one has said anything about hte speciale/speciale-A redline.

you gave it your best shot and i hope you get an allocation one way or another. No harm in trying other dealers?

that is the solace for those not receiving a special. The replacement will be incredible bc the base 296 is one of the best all around cars I’ve ever driven. I love it.

Curious if any US customers have been told anything about an added tariff on the 296 speciale?

What? Jesus this is it but maybe :)
For once and I mean once - Day and I are on same page.
There is another 296 - M same as SF90 XX and now a 3rd - we don't know much but there is one coming so why wouldn't there be one on 296 - there is.
The 3rd doesn't discount VS - who cares it's years away or around here a depreciation VS thread away!

This is not for the faint of heart - Ferrari limited models are a dog fight - the factory sets the tone and the dealers should follow that tone. It gets confusing when the tone changes - I think that's the frustration and it has been for a long time.

I never have any front-end tilting issues. Currently I'm at 8,000 miles and it definitely is the most capable and confidence inspiring car I have had for a long time. Plus I never have to plug in a battery tender.

Yes, FNA got their attorneys involved with my GTB situation. We had polite but unproductive conversations and emails. I would keep the GTB despite its issues for some easy terms, including my repeated proposal of an allocation. I was basically agreeing to a $100,000-125,000 loss.

The lawyers didn’t understand the allocation and ranking process except when I used Rolex and Hermes as analogies.

FNA said it was a dealer decision. But raised my CRM status to VIP in the interim (I was later demoted).

Dealer said their hands were tied, they didn’t know what the qualifications would be and FNA would have to approve the candidates, and they didn’t know the allocation numbers. I made several proposals on how to deal with that contingency.

Ultimately no one would agree, each blaming the other. I am really quite embarrassed about how emotionally taxing that was for me, as a grown man and professional. But it really was the start of a bonfire on nearly 30 years of being a diehard Ferrari devotee.

Sorry to hear that, Ryan. The fact that you were demoted later showed such a bad faith on their part. Just say FU. Not to mention the 296 Speciale does not look that special at all. No wow factor. I rather have a BAC Mono and let it sit in the garage and call it a day.

Thank you. I don't think anyone was malicious, and the entire process was - as mentioned - exceedingly polite and genteel. But, I couldn't get them to take action. The wildest part honestly was that every single sales and service dept staff talked to me about it at some point or another and immediately had a list of things that could have been offered and done to make things right. And I kept saying, "Yes, that would do it!" So everyone at the customer level knew how to fix it, but the dealership principals and FNA were at odds about who was going to cover the expenditure(s).

It's hard to say it was bad faith at the time. The status upgrade was part of their proposal to induce me to keep the car despite a Worst Case Scenario on delivery (if you haven't read the posts in the "296 Problems" thread, it was delivered to me with a defective V6 engine - bad camshaft off timing in the block - Engine Failure and repeated limp mode from Day 2 of possession). When I rejected their offer, they changed it back to Important.

But yeah on the Speciale allocations there was never a "no," even to today - there was a "we'll have them out by 4/29" and of course local friends were pinging me about their spots. I'm with you in that the 488 Pista was/is absolutely bite-your-hand beautiful and aggressive, while I was not struck with pangs of desire by either 296 Speciale... which is another level of weird because I sit here and I'm like I got so wound up about something that I might have not really, really wanted anyway.

I tried. Even on this Speciale allocation thing, over the past months I've been pinging them that you guys were saying from your dealer input you need either 3 cars or 296+3 cars for certain levels and I was repeatedly asking if I qualified, do I need to just buy another Ferrari for the garage, etc. "Don't worry..." was what I kept being told in response.
