Not insane at all. Eventually they'll find a someone with more $$$ than grey matter who'll think it's the bargain of the century.

Even though this is a low-optioned car, it's a factory manual in very good condition. Based on comps, I think they will sell it to a collector, not a driver and get every cent they are asking for it.

I wouldn't doubt they sell it, but I think it will be a hard sale. That color combo isn't everybody's cup of tea. Maybe if the dash were black. I agree this will go to someone that's collecting but honestly, if you're going to blow north of $400k, I'd prefer it to be in red or yellow.

I was wondering the same thing. I guess the main thing that sticks out is no CF options, but they checked a lot of other boxes.

A couple of weird items...What is the seam in the trunk? Looks like a false floor or something.

This exhaust box is absolutely huge! Is this original?

It is a pretty low option car, I think. No interior carbon, no engine bay carbon, steel brakes, no 2 tone stitching, no parkig sensors, no extended leather interior. It looks like it does have the upgraded audio and challenge wheels. Also, when new the manual was the low cost option!

My car has a false floor hiding an audio amp. My guess is with the aftermarket head unit, it has the same. Also, what is that monstrosity of a muffler? And it looks like the fixed the rattling exhaust tips by tack welding them to the tailpipe!

I think it was a dealer option like the sports exhaust. Either way, it's meant to integrate into the factory setup and shouldn't require a custom amp setup. But who knows, you don't see these often.

The only options I see that we can say the car came with were
    • Fender/wing badges (almost every car has this option, I'd be more impressed if it didn't)
    • Powered Daytona seats with colored inserts
The challenge wheels could have been added later; we don't have a window sticker to check, and the radio was definitely added later as a dealer option, as it wasn't available when the car was new, so we don't know if it originally had a HiFi amp or a basic stereo.

What options are you seeing that I don't?

I think it came out a few years after the 430 finished production as a dealer-installed option.

The leather door sills were an option. Maybe part of an extended leather option since the back wall is also leather. Blue dash was an option. Blue steering wheel. Bluetooth phone was an option.

Maybe not expensive options or popular ones, but some boxes were checked.

Found an old thread on it as well: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/looking-at-f430-with-6speed.516337/

High ask, but if you want in the 3's for it, you price it at 4 and see what you can get!

To the unindoctrinated, that move alone gives it a sense of perceived value.

At this point there's enough sales data to justify the ask to a potential buyer.

Yeah, installers haven't been using seams like that in quite some time ever since the PPF has gotten more flexible (unless it's not really full but partial. Or, it could have been a budget install.

Factory gated F430s will continue to rise in value and will continue to be worth more than the Scuderia in my opinion. When I bought my F430 I contemplated the gated which was about $20,000 more and wasn't interested nor am I today. During the 70s the Ferrari 246 wasn't considered a "real" Ferrari and wasn't even badged as a Ferrari. The serious Ferrari guys had contempt for the car. The marque was the 12-cylinder 512 BB(i). Now the lowly non-ferrari 246 is selling for north of $500,000 and some have gone much higher. The 12-cylinder 512 are selling for around $300,000. Worrying about the car not having options is analogous to criticizing and refusing to buy a house in a very nice neighborhood as the door is painted an unattractive color.:)
