    Dear Dinoland friends,

My friend in Italy, an ex-surgeon, is trying to finish his Dino restoration.

Alas, he had a terrible stroke that has left him all, but completely inoperative, and for obvious reasons,
he MUST finish his car, as time limitations are exhaustive, and unfortunately almost at the end of the line.

The busterds, that are restoring it, are not very human, nor charitable. I have been of help to him as far as
possible, but this one has me swamped, no idea which model / version.

He has cryptically asked me to help me locate the 'round white light lense' (?) that is in the right hand side
(or around) the dashboard somewhere. I am not very clear on this, and hope that your generosity in providing help, will be huge.

I cannot ask him to be more detailed, as even his writing is very difficult for him,
and for me to interpret, and cannot ask for more. He's really at the end of the project, and as you may understand, his vocal and mental resources are very limited. If you wish, please PM for further details.

Thank you for being so helpful. Please reply to me and I will make the monetary arrangements on
    his behalf, including the shipping.

    Best regards,
    Alberto

Not round but considering his condition, possibly 61737400?

Well done Alberto, what a guy

thank you INTMD8 for your efforts.

If it is the interior light (not round though) in the headlining then Superformance do these, they were the original Hella units

    https://www.superformance.co.uk/246/lights.html

Cannot think of any other white "round" lenses in the [euro] dino except the Oblong courtesy footwell lights.

Maybe the GEN light but thats red?

I would send him a photo of the dash with numbers on each light and ask to point at one of them.
Is he asking for a lente or cristallino?

Superb idea, what do you mean by cristallino (crystal?) !!

Alberto - If they are the footwell lights then they are available here. Not sure on the size but worth checking with them beforehand, my car doesnt have those!

My wife is Italian and during the early steps of our relation we were communicating in English (I am Greek).
I realised that many times she used wrong words. So I wonder is he missing a light cover or a crustal of the tacho, oil, etc.
he is asking for a lente della luce, or
a copertura? Its hard to explain but there is a difference to hiw they use the words and many times they have a different meaning between languages.

Unfortunately, he's in terrible awful shape. What surprises me is that his wife, nowhere to be seen.

"Piccola copertura di plastica bianca che copre la lampadina del vano / documenti della parte destra della plancia."
His writing is virtually incomprehensible, full of mistakes. (my edit of his message).

The poor man cannot even write anymore.

My assumption, he needs only the lense, not the whole unit, and it is the one in the footwell.

That's his words. I have no idea as my Dino, don't have it.

    Best to all,
    Alberto

If it is the footwell lenses that are needed, and only the lenses, I should have two that I replaced. I know one doesn't "rock" any more and the other was aging out. Hopefully, I didn't purge them from the box...

    Thanks Alberto

Ken, My Dino doesnt have the footwell lights so unable to check but the link I posted for these shows the lamp as a fixed unit. The roof lamp is indeed a rocker type lamp.

Maranello show two part no's but both look like fixed units, these are not shown on any TAV that i can see.

    https://www.ferrariparts.co.uk/part/ferrari/20068409?id=66086

Are the footwell lights different (fixed) to the roof light (rocker) as it appears they are....or is the GTS different

    Just curious

    Dear Alberto

unfortunatelly nobody in the family has whatsapp but I can sms/text him
I showed a photo of the Dino interior to my wife and she says probably he needs the footwel light cover on the passenger side under the glovebox.
I also checked all the Dino photos I have been sent by dealers when I was searching for one and strangely none of them appears to have footwell lights.

On further investigation with the wife, she said fhat probably the footwell light shown in the photo below, is "rounded" as in "domed"

And it makes sense by looking at this photo

I think the best approach would still be to send him a photo and ask to point at one of them.
    best regards

    Good day all.

He (or someone) sent this, in Italian, it goes in the "vano portaoggetti" aka Glove Compartment.
I am stumped as never seen one before. Aftermarket?
    Thoughts?

    Regards, Alberto

That makes two of us, never seen that on a 246. I have looked on all the electrical wiring diagram variations i have and none show a glovebox light......i doubt Ferrari would have ever thought of it in the first place.

I am novice in Dinos, but during my search for one, I saw five. None had this. Or anything similar at the glovebox.

I don't wish to be argumentative, but at the time Ferrari (or Fioravanti/Pininfarina ?) thought of it for Daytona. :)
