it'll never happen again, unless there are no more computers. everything is honed in the computer then tested in the windtunnel... innovation is on the fractions of a millimeter anymore.

Spec miata was a great idea until the pros got involved. Then the $20000 engines appeared and wrecked it for everyone.

another snoozer of a race. and I gave him the benefit of the doubt but Will Buxton is awful. I actually want Diffey back :p

oh well, it’s May and Indy starts this weekend with the road course….

I again have to berate you guys who demean any announcers. I will never do that, since I remember the bad old days (moreso for F1 than for IndyCars) when the races weren't even shown on television! You younger guys are spoiled rotten. I don't particularly have any problem with either Diffey or Buxton. I liked Diffey's enthusiasm (though I'll admit sometimes he was a bit excessive) which you guys seem to dislike. I'd rather have a guy like that than one who just goes throught the motions without a lot of passion.

As for the race, I didn't find it boring at all. I found it more enjoyable than the F1 race that followed. Alex Palou has become the Max Verstappen of IndyCar, and if any of their drivers was to be successful in F1, I'd pick him over Colton Herta or anyone else.

we can't be critical of something today because it didn't exist in the past? sorry that's a nonsense argument

other than a few battles around pit cycles (hot vs cold tires, etc) that was not a good race. evenly spread out field half a second to a second per spot. I'm not saying you need crashes and cautions for a good race, but you do need some good battles. this was a parade with Palou as the band leader :p

Herta can barely win in IndyCar, he doesn't stand a chance in F1. he'd be chewed up and spit out by the media before he ever got to a car. Palou would be interesting to see what he could do in the number one seat at a competitive team. otherwise, who cares.

Zanardi was a god in IndyCar yet he couldn't do squat in F1. But that doesn't diminish his IndyCar accomplishments. Montoya did much better in F1 . . .

    Zanardi? Montoya?

Herta is more like a Hinchliffe or Rossi

I just watched the 30 minute recap and loved it: a fabulous old fashioned road course with lots of elevation changes, proper fast flowing curves, cars that are very equal, flat out driving without concern for tire wear, drivers going for it, lots of passing: fabulous, screw F1!
