I'm going to convert my F1 car but I want to be careful and make it reversible. When I removed the reverse selector to open the tunnel I found a crossbar under the selector that retains it. This bar is riveted to the center tunnel so it'll have to be cut out.

I'm wondering what others have done for this. I have an idea for how to make it reversible, but would like to see what others have done before I make permanent changes.

It can't be made reversible in the sense that it's riveted into the fiberglass of the center console, and then covered in leather. Get out your dremel and cut it out. Trust me, you're not putting your car back to F1 after you go manual.

Thank you. I've designed an adapter that bolts in from the underside where the shifter control box goes and presents the mounting interface for the reverse selector box. This will let me switch between the two.

I have been unable to source the shift control box so I designed a replacement. I need to be able to install it in the car to validate my design, but don't want to take the car out of service permanently. I'm waiting to do the conversion next winter.
