I was led to beleve that the Rosso Barchetta was only available on 1995 355s. All the reserch that i have done has led to this conclusion. I have a Rosso Barchetta 95 355 spider manual, and wanted to sell it for a 99 spider F1 of the same colour but as i said concluded the above. Now in another thread another F chat member says he has a 97 355 but his is a GTS and that to is Rosso barchetta. Can any one shed any light on this, whats the deal? Has any one got a late 98/99 rosso barchetta 355 spider F1. I have searches on this site and there is not much imfo on the colour, God i feel like a sad anorak, but if a 99 spider F1 is available my car goes back on sale
Ferrari always offers the option of specified colors. There are two prices for this over and above the regular paint options. 1. Any color you want on a sample. Interestingly you can't have variations on red or yellow since these are special Ferrari colors. So Porsche Speed Yellow is out 2. Discontinuted Ferrari color. This is less expensive and would allow you to still specify Rosso Barchetta or Dino etc which are no longer mainstream colors. I had a friend in the UK that did this and had the only UK 360 in a dark metallic grey which was a 95 456 color.
Does Ferrari have a 'Certificate of Authenticity' like Porsche does? This allows an owner to, among other things, see how there car was specified from the factory. It might indicate what was a standard color and what was an owner specified option. If this is out there, I'd be happy to get one for my car and find out how my car's color came to be.
