    Prowling Instagram and saw this posting about the 550 with Schumacher options…and then went down the rabbit hole on 2 good Schumacher threads here in our subsection.

    Saw the comment about the gear shift plate and I hadn’t realized the fine point for 550’s with Carbon I guess our cars have the gear layout on the plate where all other cars have the Cavallino.

    surprised I hadn’t realized and thought I’d share.

    2nd photo is from Instagram (not sure if the owner is here on the forum — doing this from my phone at the airport so the search isn’t as easy) and 1st photo is from my car. Kinda neat.

    Yup, true for any Maranello with the carbon fiber option: 550, Barchetta, 575M, and Superamerica. That gearshift knob was used on the F50 and all the Maranello models.

    I have been searching for many years, as to how many Schumacher Edition-cars were made. Finally, a video is mentioning the non-standard production vehicles...but I can't hear if he is saying 13 pcs or 30pcs? Anyway, it's also mentioning that they were tailormade for the individual buyers. Interesting. Check out the video and try to listen in at 1:30 and let me know if he says 13 or 30?

    It annoys me that owning a 575 or 550 does not have a requirement of checking in at least 1x a year with those of us here on this subforum that are so “in love” with the Maranello’s so we have a more “complete” understanding of the currently surviving cars (especially the special ones and race cars).
