For all kinds of reasons we sell our cars and get another model, maybe the same model but of a different year. I've owned five so far over the last 25 years (never had the luxury of having more than one at a time) and it's been a myriad of reasons to sell and buy another. Am I alone with this? I've never had a great reason for selling one of them, well, one I did and that was to help out my now wife when she was in a bind financially. Outside of that, it's been 'I want newer', 'I want older', 'that one is better looking', yada-yada.

    Thoughts?

I've owned the same one for almost 25 years, and never plan on selling.

I know many folks who swap cars like underwear, and many others that hang onto their cars forever. I don't think "Ferrari owners" as a group are very homogeneous.

Thankfully it didn't take me long to realize what I wanted. First was a 99 F355 GTS. Now 95 F355 berlinetta I bought 10 years ago.

I've modified it a bit and absolutely love it, it's perfect for me.

Absolutely keeping. Even if there was another car I wished to experience I don't think it would be as good, to me.

plenty of reasons to change cars because each has a different personality

for me personally I enjoyed driving fast on the road but beyond the 458 it didn't feel like I would actually be any faster as it was approaching what felt like suicidal levels anyway so that removed the incentive

I always think I’m never going to sell a car; I just sold my 355 after 7 years. When I bought it I had no intention of ever selling. Didn’t hurt that I got back what I paid, all service costs (not insubstantial) plus a bit extra, but that wasn’t my motivation.

People change, priorities can change, desires can change, all of which you can’t foresee. If I get into another Ferrari, it’ll likely be a 328, as that’s what I originally lusted after as a teen, plus it’s a realistic get. Not the priority now, but it may be sometime in the future.

My 1988 3.2 Carrera, however, I’m never going to sell.;) (Which is what I said about the previous 911 before I sold it, but I really really mean it this time).

I don’t plan on selling my Ferrari. It’s my first Ferrari. Eventually, I’d be trying to track it down, like I’ve been trying to do with my first H1 for years.

I've only owned 2 Ferrari's since 2002, a 328 and 360, and maintained them very well. But I've toyed with the idea of other models. I just never pulled the trigger because at the end of the day, my funds are limited. If I were loaded, maybe it would be different. :)
