@Chupacabra that’s a comical range….with the engine issue even at $35k shouldn’t that be about the top? This is what the DDE guys should have used when they built their Racecar.

I hope @Clyde Romero got a reasonable amount when he sold it and I enjoy following his thread for the next adventure.

I've been busy and haven't kept up on a few of the BaT/C&B results.

I thought these two cars were interesting given the results and I'll do the "BaT Alumni" Rosso/C first. That car sold on BaT and now was listed with a very low RNM result on C&B. The counterpoint to that low result will be the other R/C 550 that sold on BaT with VERY low miles and a somewhat surprisingly high hammer number.....on to the stats.....

3/21/25 a 2000 550 SOLD AT A SHOCKING $250,000 with 6,423 miles -- out of North Salem NY this time around.
I say shocking due to price & at the beginning of the auction it was noted that the right nostril had taken a "nudge" since the last sale and was clearly damaged.

I'd say something smells bad but the running up bidder is a seemingly very legit guy who was at $240k "Mike47".

An interesting pair of results.....the first one on C&B should have gone higher and this one on BaT should have gone WAY lower.....YMMV.....

 

Terry I assume a typo above, I had recalled you mentioned historically the Scaglietti options were end ‘97 or early ‘98?

 

I’ve had “Scaglietti” on my brain because my mechanic has a client with a 2007 612 for sale with the exhaust and carbon brakes but my wife says I already have too many toys….

 

I've been "agitated" because my 550 still isn't in my garage.....as a result I've just been skipping posting on this thread.....there are a couple right now tho that I'll chase.....

One interesting move happened on this 2002 575 today with a sizable jump to what I would have thought was above market.....

Guess we can see how this one ends and I'll follow up then with a breakdown.

There is also a R/C 550 thats back on BaT for the 3rd time....I'll tackle that one when it hammers in 6 days as well since it has an "BaT history".

The hammer price for this specific moment in time felt like "beyond full money". given it was a 2002 and where 550's are at.....no question 575's are undervalued but my personal thought is still 'full money"....that being said, I do love this color combo.....

The team at Macchina Motorwerx (MMW) had helped @dhalperin13 get his 575 conversion sorted and they were the 2nd highest bidder....that should tell all of us what they think about 575's being under valued.

It should be noted that MMW's bid at $87k was the start of the brawl between them and the ultimate winner @rrubano up to $136k.... it's interesting....if one of them had not "been in the room" I would have liked to see the result. Would have been good to see a third person in there..... its not uncommon for someone to join BaT just to bid and win a car so I hope whoever rrubano is completes the transaction. Higher values for all of us is good.....

I really like how BaT draws the crowd and we had a comment from @Zonian65 that noted he owned this car for 18 years (up to 2022).

p.s. when I do get my 550 back from the mechanic I'll share an update. I haven't harassed my mechanic this week because I'm coaching a softball double header saturday and then coaching soccer sunday so if I even had the car it would be sitting.....
