Finished my build and settled on Cuoio interior. Two tone option has upper dash in cuoio color and not black. Saw some comments about glare on the windshield being an issue. Does anyone have experience with this? Should I work on getting it changed to black? Thanks

Yes, my 296's dash is rosso and the reflection is distracting and annoying. I wouldn't spec a colored dash again. Do keep in mind reflection angles will vary between cars so it might be better or worse with the 12C.

Most people seem to be bothered by the reflection on to the dash, and the typical recommendation is to have the dash in black or another dark color, dark brown, dark blue etc.

However, the car is for you, so if you love it, then thats really what should matter the most. However, the day may come when you want to sell and I think a light colored dash will turn off a decent number of potential buyers, so as much as I like it, I think the safe advice is to get the dash in black or something else thats fairly dark.

Also a more steep windshield angle will also contribute to the glare issue.

The windshield to dash relationship is an important factor. So is the reflectivity of the color. That said, my 987.1 2006 sand beige Cayman was very distracting but my 987.1 2008 Carrera red Boxster is fine.

I think though that Carrera red is darker than rosso.

Two tone dash is a compromise In my opinion, but one that is fully justified if reflection is strong.

“Mouse hair” which is black and has even less reflectivity than Black leather was used by Ferrari to eliminate glare. Modern Alcantara has some of this advantage. I’m not sure if a light color Alcantara is glare free. Black Alcantara would have the least amount of glare. Perhaps even less than black leather.

I have the normal black dash, and even this has A LOT of glare. Never had it this bad in any car i drove! I would never recommend a lighter color that will make the problem worse.

You may wish to try some polarized sunglasses, this should help the problem of the reflections.

I have a C8 corvette with a complete tan interior, including the dash. Yes, there is glare but you get used to it really fast. I don't even notice it. And I do as a habit wear polarized Rayban sunglasses not just for the car. I would suggest the same as it does help quite a bit. But even without sunglasses I just got used to it.

Many display screens use polarization and this create visibility issues when wearing polarized sunglasses.

Presently this is the reason why pilots both military and commercial do not wear polarized sunglesses/eyewear when in the cockit.
