Interior glare

Yes, my 296's dash is rosso and the reflection is distracting and annoying. I wouldn't spec a colored dash again. Do keep in mind reflection angles will vary between cars so it might be better or worse with the 12C.

 

Most people seem to be bothered by the reflection on to the dash, and the typical recommendation is to have the dash in black or another dark color, dark brown, dark blue etc.

However, the car is for you, so if you love it, then thats really what should matter the most. However, the day may come when you want to sell and I think a light colored dash will turn off a decent number of potential buyers, so as much as I like it, I think the safe advice is to get the dash in black or something else thats fairly dark.

 

Also a more steep windshield angle will also contribute to the glare issue.

 

The windshield to dash relationship is an important factor. So is the reflectivity of the color. That said, my 987.1 2006 sand beige Cayman was very distracting but my 987.1 2008 Carrera red Boxster is fine.

I think though that Carrera red is darker than rosso.

Two tone dash is a compromise In my opinion, but one that is fully justified if reflection is strong.

 

“Mouse hair” which is black and has even less reflectivity than Black leather was used by Ferrari to eliminate glare. Modern Alcantara has some of this advantage. I’m not sure if a light color Alcantara is glare free. Black Alcantara would have the least amount of glare. Perhaps even less than black leather.
