What’s to explain. You’re saying they don’t want to participate in fraudulent F1 tire shenanigans. Michelin is a partner of WEC who useS BOP which is as bad as F1’s tire nonsense.

If the cars weighed 600 Kg the tires would not overheat in 1 lap, nor would they go cold in 1 lap.

BoP is a handicap formula to equalise cars of different designs.
Constructors accept the concept when they join; there is nothing fraudulent there.
Michelin doesn't participate in F1, because the tyre supplier is asked to provide tyres with high degradation to "spice up" the racing.
This is against their philosophy, and also risks affecting their reputation, they think.

BoP is done to make the "show" better. Pirelli making F1 tires suck as you say to make the "show" better. It's the the same thing, which is not to develop things to the best that it can be. All a scam for the traveling circus show. McLaren being dominate was also probably intentional by F1 so the show doesn't end up being RBR running away again with it...seems rigged.

It certainly would help. Though the 2011 cars weighed just 640 kg and the tires already had a narrow operating window.

F1/FIA have been proven to manipulate the season to keep it close and interesting and thus more views and revenue. 2021 was filled with BS influence. I wouldn't be surprised in the least if there has been some manipulation to get McLaren up front. Formula 1 has been pushing Lando as the next face of F1 for years. Quite convenient that their golden goose went from the worst car to the best car within a year, and now has a dominant car. Imagine the hurt when Lando failed against their villain (Max) in 2024 and is now losing against his comparably boring teammate, Oscar.

Was it as long as that, I think the McLaren turnaround was within a few months last year. If that was Ferrari then it would have drawn a lot of attention from the FIA and banned it before they even investigated it. Top officials at the FIA dont like Ferrari for some reason!

Also the fake driver clashes, it started in the Hunt / Lauda years then gained traction to Senna / Prost era. The rivalry is so false today.

Can anyone remember how race control and stewards got involved years ago...seems like its another botched FIA intervention. Dont get me started on the radio comm's :)

As long as the rules and equipment are the same for all participants, even if we don't like them, I don't see how it's rigged.
Parameters were imposed like specs tyres, spending cap, power limits (WEC) to allow more participants and avoid an arms race and run-away budgets, in short to equalise. I see no conspiracy in this.

RedBull struggling and Mclaren growing stronger. Not a problem for me. Its the normal cycle in F1 and its why we watch as well. Now if Ferrari could really join the party.................

Here's what I heard from across the pond over the weekend:

Teams have been watching Mclaren with infrared cameras to the tires during the race, especially the rear tires, and they have determined that what Mclaren are doing with the rear tire temps is not possible via just having good aero.

This advantage is most articulated during race pace, not during qualy, which is why we see such close qualy sessions but massive race pace difference with Mclaren.

The rear brake ducts have phase shifting material/metal that once a certain temp is realized, the metal shifts and opens an additional duct allowing air to be fed elsewhere to cool the tires.

    That's bordering on paranoia. ;)

I know it's fashionable nowadays to accuse others to explain failure ...

The secret? There is a small, elite cabal of very rich men behind the curtain who see when one team has been winning for too long, causing the sport to grow stale, which affects profits.

    So they start pulling levers....
