I sincerely hope this is just a rumour as I am anything but a fan of Horner!

Red Bull, Horner in the balance: Ferrari come forward and take Verstappen:
    — Speculation is growing around Christian Horner’s future at Red Bull, with rumors emerging from Austria that a post-Imola exit could be in motion. Though denied officially, the whispers suggest internal unrest following Red Bull’s sharp decline behind McLaren and Mercedes. Horner, once a central figure, is reportedly under review by the Red Bull board, which has been unimpressed since pre-season testing.
    — The idea of replacing Horner with names like Oliver Oakes or Franz Tost has surfaced, though unconfirmed. Still, the article posits an intriguing scenario: should Horner become available, Ferrari must act quickly. His political weight, championship pedigree, and long-term leadership make him an ideal candidate to replace Fred Vasseur, whose influence is increasingly questioned amid Ferrari’s stagnant results.
    — The proposal doesn’t stop with Horner. The suggestion is bold—if Ferrari truly wishes to reset after 17 title-less years, they should target both Horner and Max Verstappen. The Dutchman remains F1’s only consistently dominant force, and pairing him with Horner could be Ferrari’s best chance to reassert itself at the top.

Horner to Ferrari won't make a bit of difference.

The stronger rumours have Max Verstapen following Adrian Newey to Aston Martin with a truckload of Honda money paving the way.

Agreed. Ferrari needs a complete design team, mechanical team, and aero team....and all need to work cohesively.

people told me I was crazy for suggesting that last year ;)

I don't see Horner going to Ferrari. more likely is he's booted from Red Bull and becomes a commentator to air all his grievances

No matter how good he is, one man cannot change things alone - Verstappen is doing his best with a crap car, it does not make it a championship winner.
Hamilton - the seven times world champion - does not make any good to Ferrari.
And I suspect Newey will not turn Lance Stroll into a world champion.
On the other hand, McLaren does not currently rely on one single famous character; but they are head and shoulders above the other teams.

Wont happen. Investors and the board see superb profits and growth. He will be buying a larger helo more than likely. Not suffering in one.

    I have to disagree partially:
Pretty much every engineer in the development of an F1 car is competent, i.e. has knowledge, skills & motivation to do their job properly.

To achieve real progress and real competitive advantages however, it is necessary to think outside the box and find ideas that the other constructors haven't thought of or dismissed.

And this is where individual people can make an enormous difference; so one man alone can have championship winning impact (assuming that the rest of the team doesn't mess it up somehow).

I agree that Newey will not turn Stroll into a world champion, but he might very well give Alonso a car that makes him a title contender again.

Edit: whether an engineer becomes famous or not does not necessarily correlate with their brilliance. Some of the most ingenious people in the business have never been to a racetrack (as far as I am aware) and have never given any interview or statement to the public whatsoever. :)

Someone quote me later on this but I do not believe Newey is relevant as he used to be in formula 1. The fellows at Mclaren, James at Mercedes and that team, and others have well proven more than capable. Newey is unique and old-school with his drawing board but I no longer see him as the 'I win' button when the rules were more fluid.

Also, Honda does not have the chops to get the engine formula right from the word go. They will get there eventually but Mercedes have that ability like no others to have it right from day 1. Max would be a capital fool to go with Aston Martin unless he just wants the freight train of money they're bringing.

I won't argue against you this time. Didn't pan out so great for me the last time around. :)

That said I do hope you're wrong and Newey brings the much needed change at AM. We'll see.

I think Newey, with his insight, of bringing the 3 F1 depts to "talk" to one another with Newey being the focal point will bring Alonso(IF he stays) a winning car to include the Honda PU(should be the same ICE it's just the battery KW is different is all).

That goes without saying. Of course the prancing horse should be winning again. Unthinkable that Kimi was their last WDC. Reminds me of the nineties before MS started his winning streak.

This rumor makes zero sense. Horn dog needs to stay away from the Scuderia. The Scuderia issues can be split into two, technical and organizational. The technical issues stem from the fact that they had a winning car and decided to scrap it for a new one. The organizational issues are that the team does not have the decision making of a mature championship winning team.

Why bother? Red Bull is in decline, Horner offers no guarantee of anything. Although I'd be interested in a Hamilton-Verstappen swap. Just sayin'

Well, objectively, Horner’s record is unquestionably superior to Vasseur’s.
