I wonder based on the name if 12 Cilindri will the last GT car that will have a NA V12 vs. with hybrid or Forced induction assist. Don' think Ferrari would do forced induction but wont be surprised if the name chosen (like F8 tributo) was done for this reason.

I tend to agree with you here that the name foreshadows finality.

I believe that to the extent that Ferrari continues to make V12 for non-Icona cars, they will be battery hybrid assist because the torque and power provided by EV is forcing Ferrari to add it in order to stay competitive in the marketplace.

I believe the 12 Cilindri VS will signal a climax of unassisted NA V12 with a 10,000 RPM redline and that Ferrari has sand-bagged this capability for this exact reason.

I think the Piloti version will be called the Mugello, and will be more than he describes (which is basically just the 488P)

I've been notified that Ferrari has confirmed the number of cars allocated to my dealership, but the factory hasn't responded yet on the approval of the proposed names. How long does this approval process typically take, or is this more of a subtle "not this time" situation?

I think names were submitted to receive allocations a long time ago, your name was either on or off the list.

My name was submitted, but the dealer was unaware of how many cars they would receive at that time. From what I understand, they were awaiting factory confirmation on which names would receive an allocation.

I was told that the dealers have already received the #s of allocations along with a list of all customers eligible. It is up to the dealers to decide who gets it and then they will submit the names to the factory. Others can share their experience.

I was told that I shouldn't wait much longer with my order as the car is quickly selling out. Signed my order on Friday.

Dealers can select Speciale clients, but must have 296 currently. SpecialeA and Piloti are approved lists from the factory, no discretionary allocations at the dealer level.

This is what I am being told from a top US-based dealer. For reference, 34 y/o executive here in major metro - first new Ferrari purchase was 296GTB, traded in for '25 GTS, and was offered Speciale but not eligible for Apart/Piloti. I give you a few points of reference re: spend and demographic, as my dealer told me "the factory would like to see SOME these cars end up in the hands of newer/younger Ferrari buyers as they begin their journey with the brand."

these dealers are hilarious. you walk in there and they tell you they have absolutely NO SAY in who gets the speciale. then they tell you ferrari might move you up on the list if you trade your 296 in for a 100k loss and buy an ugly SF90 for 100k more....so that when your 500k speciale comes in you can lose another 75k on the SF90 no one wants. so it'll cost you 275k.

they also try to sell you a 30K insurance policy on the CF wheels.

the guido level culture of having a ferrari is real joykill. it is such a ponzi.

My SA told me for the coupe you have to be an active customer which means you have bought a Ferrari before and you need to have one active car ( not necessarily a 296 ). For the aperta you qualify by being a customer with recent purchases and at least 3 active cars in your account by now and also by the time of production of your new speciale.

Ponzi this - SF90 guys who got XX - or guys who get VS / VS Spider.
Welcome to the real world of Ferrari where some make more than the dealer and factory put together.
Define Ponzi scheme - if you and others know it was all about profits - buy the stock which has 5X since IPO.

Same here. You most definitely do NOT need to have a GTB/GTS to get a Speciale (coupe) allocation. There is some dealer discretion. As others have noted, some are holding slot(s) to move existing new (never titled) cars that initial buyers walked away from, and/or move a pre-owned inventory car.

    ... and different market conditions.
In the video above, the price mentioned for a 458 Speciale is $800K - so at around $500K, a new lightly optioned 296 Speciale is still less expensive.
In Europe a 458 Speciale can be bought easily for less than €400K (€800K will get you a Speciale Aperta), so at around €450K the new 296 Speciale is more expensive.

This is incorrect. The official written criteria has been discussed here. Unlike the SF90 XX requirement, having a 296 in the garage in NOT a prerequisite. In fact, I do not currently own a 296, but have an allocation for a SA.

The Speciale A ends up at 500…550k€. At least.
Still a 6 cyl. Plug-in-Hybrid with some CF camouflage.
I guess it will fall like a bombshell eventually. Like all those electrified species.

Like all electrified - guess the XX that went for over 1m above msrp doesn't count.
Or P1 918 LaF - guess those don't count either.

In my geo - exactly as per above. As a long term (non 296) Ferrari customer - not an issue to get a coupe.
