I watched this with keen interest, as I await the arrival of my XX in production. Charting new territory with special Ferrari hybrids, so XX values may provide some insight for the future of 296 S/SA ownership. For some of us, the game will likely change if special and limited hybrid values don’t hold up. I happen to believe the SF90 and 296 are amazing cars to drive and own, but my wife constantly reminds me that the world doesn’t care what I think.
I was told there are folks with both gts and gtb history that did not get allocation at my dealer but yes having 296 in possession is not a requirement.
Yes, dealers may have their own demands, and I may ask for clarification, as I have 3 cars, but one for sale. Maybe the 296 will become the 3rd in that case. Kind of a special circumstance, and not crystal to me as far as what I needed to have.
Limited - was Dino Daytona 328 308 550 Stradale 512 - you are lashing out like others. Enjoy what others or you have - who cares if someone else makes or loses - it's their not yours. Whatever resale price of a Ferrari buy day / sell day is dependent on that days market. People said P1 LaF 918 were horrid - fast forward now you say - limited. Hybrid is no different than other Ferrari's - it is more expensive than in the past but percentage wise it's consistent. Rear engine Ferrari's always do well vs front engine - esp track versions VS will be no different
Nice, would you be able to share an option / personalization catalogue link? I know it’s market specific but that sheds so much light on how things pull together (or what they even are if the name isn’t clear) - really helps to help build a spec in mind before sitting down with the dealer.
From what I can tell on the personalization program in my market (US) is that a decent amount of carbon is included. Don't quote me but it appears that the following carbon options are included: carbon steering wheel+leds, three carbon fins on the driver side instrument cluster+passenger side (whatever that means), central tunnel in matte carbon and raised section in glossy carbon, sill plate in carbon, central and side front spoilers in glossy carbon, rear diffuser in glossy carbon, rear spoiler in glossy carbon, and engine covers in glossy carbon. Appears the side skirts, air vent on hood, rear "challenge grill", underside of the "wings", and anything else I missed/didn't mention are not in carbon on the base car. Please correct me if I am wrong!
haha oh yes, I am never doing that again. It affects your ownership and stops you from getting the title to an asset you own. I think if you refuse to allow the lien but give ROFR they will probably cave.
Glass appears to be standard. Can be ordered in visible carbon with a “grafite finishing” which is described as visible carbon with a darker tint to it. It is also available in regular visible carbon.
Interesting note is that the front bumper is available to be ordered in carbon fiber, but it is not visible and is purely for weight savings (2kg).
Would the 296 Speciale have Bumpy Road Suspension mode? The roads in my neck of the woods are pretty crappy and the bumpy road suspension modes is a lifesaver. Traditionally the 458 Speciale and 488 Pista both had these features. However, 296 Speciale uses multimatic fixed dampers instead of the 458VS/488P’s SCM (magnetorheological) adaptive dampers. Even the addition of the assetto fiorano pack deleted the bumpy road suspension mode, so I’m unsure if the bumpy road mode will make it to the 296 Speciale or Aperta. Any thoughts on this?
Same as the Pista (well Almost, the 296 Speciale has more CF). Guessing that the sills and other bits are +$30k
LaF and XX not limited? Plug-in is crap in a sportscar. People don’t really like it. 296 and SF90 are loosing values worse than AM. Their batteries need to be replaced after some years. Unless they don’t burn down before. Prepare several 10k when it comes close to it.
What does losing value have to do with people liking or not liking the car? Everyone that drives a 296 gets blown away by the car. Everyone on this thread is very excited for the 296 Speciale and think the car will be great. If you haven’t driven one, go to your dealer and test drive one I think your opinion will be changed. We all had the same opinion at first about the hybrid Ferrari but it works. They are the best cars out.
That's a lot. Hope it stays that way! I know the interior has a massive amount. More than I've ever seen on a car from them.
anyone hung up about "plug in" must never have owned a Ferrari or higher end sports car. I have been plugging my cars into a battery tender for over a decade.
I mean, if you don't like the 296 due to the V6 and it's a hybrid, then move on and stop spreading negativity in here. You'e not gonna convince folks who love the car to sell it or the folks who're interested in the car from buying one. Plenty of other places on the internet to get negative about, or learn to contribute positivity.
Funnily enough, the 812 had to be plugged into a tender or the electronics would go crazy on a low battery, while I've never had to plug the 296 in as I always charged it while driving.
