I just had my Roma in for service and the dealer said you guys are all crazy, there's no center screen patch or update for CarPlay to the center console screen. Could you bless me with a photo to show them?
My dealer says I'm crazy about what you said about your car. Could you send me a picture of your screen with the Apple CarPlay on the center?
Below are some photos of CarPlay on the center screen. My system information is as follows: Software version 97.14.00 HMI version V-6.4.12 EB Speech version 5.0.2 GN Data version 31.05.21 ISP Camera FW version 02.01.01 TTS version 4.0.1 I’m in the US and my car was delivered in May of 2022. Good luck! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The dealer just gave me the car back and said there was no update like this. I just saw your photos and sent them over, his response,,,this looks aftermarket! I wish it was so I could buy it!
What software versions is your vehicle on now following the visit to the dealer? Do you still have a “VIEW MAX” haptic button on the wheel?
i can assure you that this is not an after-market change. Only Ferrari dealers have touched my car. I can’t explain your dealer’s position on this.
Go to a different dealer! He’s wrong. SV Check in with user SAFE4NOW. He runs the service department out Boardwalk in Dallas.
I can also confirm that the latest software update (97.14.00) now provides wireless Apple CarPlay on my 2022 Roma in the USA. It was also dealer installed. Andy Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
2024 Roma Spider. Have the car in for 1st service and enquired about switching Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to infotainment center screen. I was told by Ferrari of Houston this can be done and the fee is $320.00, they have to download the program from Ferrari. Problem is, I was told, is that once it is moved it is moved and you can no longer have it show on the instrument cluster. Most of the time my preference is to have it shown on the instrument cluster, but once in while it would be nice to switch it to the infotainment center screen. Any one else have any experience with this? Image Unavailable, Please Login
What software version is your spider currently on? Once the latest software is applied CarPlay is only shown in the central infotainment screen, it cannot be shown in the dash. Unless there is something else going on, there is no “fee” for software updates, if they are applied at service time, where they should be applied as a matter of course as part of the standard service process. It sounds strange that a 2024 spider would be on comparatively old and outdated software, which showed CarPlay in the dash, but caused other problems with lag and instability.
@rjn21 I am not sure of the software version number as the car is currently in the shop for its first service and the dealer is applying all currently available updates. Perhaps the charge is for relocating Android Auto to the center screen. When I get the car back I will update the thread with the then current version number of the software and whether or not CarPlay or Android Auto now appears on the center screen. @rjn21, @ SVCalifornia Does your car also display Android Auto on the center screen?
I have my '21 in for servicing right now and just got an email that the update to center screen worked, but there will be a charge for labor for this "installation". Silly me thought you plug it in and it updates.
Sounds like the dealer trying it on. The update was an official F campaign (468 and 473), even without a service. With a service it takes no more ramp time than the service anyway (plug in DEIS laptop, accept the update service plan, let it get on with it whilst the other service operations are undertaken). You may wish to escalate.
For my 2021 roma the dealer upgraded it for free. They did say it would take all night to update tho. Or words to that effect. 2024 Roma spider was correct out of the box!
For dealers seeking to charge for a software update, if it’s a stand alone update without a service, that would seem fair enough as it does take up ramp time. If a service is being undertaken at the same time that seems a bit off as a service should include any vehicle updates. If it’s Roma CarPlay to central screen that should be chargeable to F anyway as a specific campaign action. Unless F are now refusing to pay as the campaign is several years old. It’s certainly worth a discussion with the dealer each year at service time.
I apologize as I know this has been asked before but my Roma 21 is at the dealer for annual service and they say there is still no way to make the CarPlay that is on the steering wheel screen go to the center screen? Is there a software update I should ask for? Thank you in advance
I had my 22' Roma software updated from my dealer about a year ago. Greenwich,CT. Got wireless carplyay and onto middle screen. I wish the reverse camera would pop on the middle screen too. Now it's blocked from the steering wheel.
Yes, my 21 (before I sold it) went to the dealer for the software upgrade and it worked perfectly. Of course they charged me $468 to do it, but I enjoyed it for 2 weeks Software version : 97.14.00 HMI version : V-6 4.12 EB Speech version : 5.0.2 GN Date version : 31.05.21 ISP Camera FW version : 02.01.01 TTS version : 4.01
