Vegas down to their final out. But I'm not surprised. Last night's game was pretty pitiful. Almost no offense, pretty poor defense in the 1st period which has become rather typical. Hill inconsistent in goal. The first 2 goals not his fault. The third -- ugh.
I have to admit that I was against Edmonton re-inserting Skinner in net, but he proved me wrong yesterday. Edmonton, IMHO, is the favourite to win the Stanley Cup.
I think you are correct but I've felt that for a while. I thought whoever won between the Kings vs Oilers could win the cup. IMO, the Kings also finished better than the Golden Knights this year.
Just as in basketball, a lot of the favorites are down 3-1 and look like they're about to be eliminated.
Not necessarily tonight, but the league has to do something about the head hunting in the playoffs. Panthers are ridiculous about it and the league has been weak on a response let alone what the referees call on ice at the time. Stolarz being out has hurt the Leafs and Bennett gets to play like nothing happened for example. Even the Ekblad hit on Hagel in the Tampa series, true Ekblad was suspended two games but he put a player out for that long or longer had they had more games to play. This isn’t the only time this year it’s happened where players are hurt and out multiple games when the offending player gets little or no repercussion. Personally I think the league needs to change the rules to state if a player is injured and a penalty and/or fine happens as a result of the play then the offending player’s minimum suspension is to be out as long as the player he injured. Additionally, if there’s any intent to injure play the offending player is automatically out for the entire playoffs.
Hmmmmm...... Agree Joe, to a certain extent. Want to point out that the NHLPA negotiated maximum "misconduct" (or more aptly described as "causing mayhem against another") FINE is................ a paltry 5 thousand. That's like a dime to any 1-12 million per year player under contract. ace master will correct me if I am wrong But yes, the HURT the miscreants (when I played: GOONS) put on the skilled costs them games and series. NHL these days is SO much faster, SO much-more skilled than 20-40 years ago it's silly (fast).
Vegas goes down. Not really a surprise. Edmonton just refused to let them get close to scoring. This was probably Hill's best game but if you can't score, you never will win.
Tweet— Twitter API (@user) date Ekblad trying to win the league's coveted "Most Prolific Elbow" award away from Trouba, I see.
And Jamie Benn (Dallas) continues to be one of the dirtiest players in the NHL. Sucker punched Scheifele. As usual, doesn't get called for it.
not sure I would call it a sucker punch, Scheifele just reacted so slow the result seemed like a sucker punch. Not often you can land a good left hander like that, but Benn did. I can't find the current replay, but found this!
Good night Caps. Classy post game presser from their coach. Someone explain to me how Brind'Amour is not in the HoF.
here it is, I actually think Scheifele was looking right at the eyes of Benn, but still didn't catch the left hander coming from down low. great punch! Not a sucker punch!
