Back around 2008 IIRC I saw a Volvo like that getting a full restoration at a panel beater in South Melbourne.

    Same car ?

    Arvin,

That's not the kerrari I know. She is someone who is sensible and realistic and not living in a bubble where there are only wealthy old white guys with flash cars. I think it's very easy to be a 'keyboard warrior' without recognising or thinking that there is a real person at the other end of your comments. Ever volunteered in a homeless shelter or a food bank and seen how some people scratch to get by? It's not all beer and skittles out there...

I think they are unworthy and should be removed.

Oh - and can't be many Sebrings or Daytonas left in the country. Old white guys have been selling them all overseas I gather...

Andrew, while to some extent I agree with your sentiments (I hate any “I’m richer / more successful / my family is better than yours” BS. It’s both laughable and falls down very quickly when exposed to any scrutiny), it does go both ways.

I have consistently defended Karen against what I felt were unfair comments and have always stated where I do actually agree with her - however rarely that may be.

However, I can’t think of a single instance where that has been reciprocated.

No matter how clearly or concisely I put a position - even one that is exactly the same - somehow she manages to come back with some bollocks that either completely misrepresents what I said or ignores it completely.

There comes a point where all you can do is throw your arms in the air.

I feel I am arriving at that point, unfortunately.

LOL! I had to unblock Arsvan to see what you were talking about! Don't worry about it. At least this time he didn't hide behind a fake name on Facebook page!

Well I'm sorry about that Steve although I'm struggling to recall an instance where you've needed defending against unfair comments.
I think some of the problem is your idea of 'clear and concise ' is very different to mine. I never deliberately misrepresent what you say, but I DO often have problems figuring out what your intention is eg the the post re Adam Bandt losing his seat due to preferences - certainly seemed to me you were unhappy about his loss...

Mate, I'd hate to be an American

They seem to hate their opposite side so vehemently and I hope we never get like that in Australia, I have heaps of friends from both sides of politics and although I'm centre-left I can swing centre-right in a blink

I've never liked HARD left OR hard right, extremes arec degrading and promote these bad feelings and Trump is just a long line that has epitomised these final (hopefully) deep emotions of negative feelings

I'm glad that you understood my comment ;)

I have certainly been a victim or their hate :(

Trump is a disgusting person. Hope he rots in hell.

Mate, think about all the good times . It will put a smile on your face :) Take care

I am. I built this MR2 Last car ever sold in Australia. Total strip to bare metal. Every part besides the shell, Carpets and seats is brand new. I ordered over 1000 parts . I fully built the engine to a supercharged 337 KW's at the wheels mean machine from 2 liters. The engine is a one of in the whole world.
I think I do know something about cars amongst other things and am a car guy. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

I come here for sensible and balanced discussion and debate :D Maybe I'm in the wrong place!

I'm just disappointed that Arvin had to quickly reduce the discussion to senseless insults. His parents would be disappointed after all that money they spent on his education. I'm sure that if someone dribbled all that stuff to someone that he cohabits with (assuming he has a partner) he would be upset. He needs to think more before pressing send perhaps...

As was said, it's toxic in the USA at the moment and I have some friends there in the Ferrari world keeping their heads down at the moment. We won't all agree on all points all of the time, but it's healthier to have the discussion and listen to other points of view, not just fling insults. We have plenty of examples around of what that leads to!

The whole tax and spend debate is difficult to get a clear path on. Governments the world over don't have the perfect formula and it seems like few people are happy in any one place. I would hazard a guess though that most governments would lose as much to fraud and tax evasion from rich and/or criminal elements as they spend on supporting the poor people in society. Sure, I am sure that there are 'spongers' in society, but is the person getting supported and having pay TV and smoking a packet of cigs a day (or whatever) and different really to the guy cheating on their tax or asset stripping a company and sending it bust leaving a large tax liability behind? We all want the services and facilities that the taxes pay for, but we all resent having to pay for it. The paradox of life I guess.

I could grumble about it all the time if I wanted, but that doesn't help anything. Should I resent the 2 or 3 of my colleagues here who are probably on £25-£28k per year but have council or housing association properties and are paying maybe £500 a month max towards a 3-4 bedroom house in outer London suburb? They have a lot more day-to-day spending money than I have, but I have a lot more assets than them. What goes around comes around. Nothing more inevitable than death and taxes as the saying goes...

Now, where can I talk about cars?
