Hello Mario, evidently we shall never see the photos, as the kind gentleman that says he has seen them, will not share them. As per my previous story, in my vast collection of my youth, they are certainly there. Clearly, not an easy task to go and retrieve, as they are kept in a fairly inaccessible location in Rome, which would entail traveling there, going through many many magazines, that have not been perused since that time. We all know what happens to literature that is kept in cardboard boxes, or whatever after 60+ years of not having been opened. All sorts of bugs have feast on them. I suppose we will all have to keep our collective mouths open, until somebody comes up with that mystery photo I am well aware that the Targa Florio photos were not the proper ones, just thought I would post them. Why not? Best regards Alberto
The cut looks larger in first shot so perhaps they had to open it further as the race went on for additional cooling
A personal attack with a smiley emoji is nothing but a personal attack... with a smiley emoji. It's sixth grade behavior instead of third grade...not quite as petulant, but still childish. Your high horse is a donkey...look down every so often to not get fooled.
Thank you for the kind words Ted, and the equine conveyance. Who was I attacking, pray tell? And with a smiley? You ought to read the PERSONAL notes I was sent. Outright VULGAR and low. Very East End. Unfortunately, I cannot send them to you as proof, or make public, as private is private. And yes, I am all you call me, with people that are classless, uneducated, and mighty. I do not "attack" I act. Attacking is for the battlefield, and this is not. This ought to be polite banter. Oh, and heaven protect the ignorant fool that dares to ask, dare I say it again, 'not intelligent questions'. I am outright lacking in this field, yet have no issue at claiming undeserved intelligence. On the other hand, I will not tolerate, rudeness and one-upmanship. There is some politeness left in the world, not much, but some are polite, more so than others. Here, there is one that excels at that 'lack of manners', and it is not I, nor you of course. Please don't misinterpret. Regards, Alberto
Yes, I am trying to be mannerly in pointing out that you are passive aggressively NOT being mannerly. PMs are PMs... not relevant at all. I used to really enjoy your informed contributions to Fchat. Something seems to have changed with one of us... might be me, might be you. Lately I don't see anything informed. Your latest posts have become tropes re: Steve. Getting back to your equine conveyance. Stop being the horse's donkey. Go back to contributing instead of poking. Put Steve on ignore. I hate doing that, but since I put the other person behaving similarly towards anything Steve posts, my Fchat life has been better. I suspect you'll be no worse if you don't see or respond to Steve's posts.
IMO a question of perspective. You can see in the second shot a part of the sheet metal bent down but not cut out which would not be visible when looking at it head on as in the other photo.
3765 LM at Cavallino Classic, Modena, still with 250 engine by the smaller size of the bonnet hump, 4 litre 3 D nose and number 7 Le Mans 4 litre 330 LM livery. Image Unavailable, Please Login
^^^^Does anyone know if 3765 LM has now been Classiche Certified or if Certification has been applied for in its current incorrect form?
I'd think anyone with enough Classiche expertise & experience should be able to just ask them or Piero directly and if the answer is not satisfactory, tell them what's wrong and how to correct it all.
3765 LM is going to be restored correctly for Classiche Certification to its 3 litre race specification. So the nose vents will have to revert to the slot/letterbox type for it to be correct. See video here.
