I'm thinking of selling my 2010 458 Italia. Nothing wrong with it, just did a service replacing all the fluids, plugs etc. Total service cost was $5,500. I have no idea what to sell it for. I've been looking at ads and there just aren't that many for 458's. I need some recommendations on the sales price. Here are the specs:

    1. 2010 Rosso Corsa
    2. Tan interior
    3. Daytona Seats
    4. 18,500 miles
    5. Clean title, no accidents
    6. I think I'm the 5th owner, I haven't pulled the carfax to confirm
    7. No mods
    8. It still has the airbag and fuel thingy recall that needs to be done (local dealer service manager was supposed to call me a month ago to schedule, par for the course with this guy so I'm over it with them).
It's a low spec car, no carbon fiber.

I don't want to sit on the car for a year and have all the hassle. What would be a good price to move this in say 3-6 months? I can sit on it, but I'm just not driving it enough and I'm now having back issues so getting in and out of the car is more painful than it used to be.

2010s range from $177-$239 ask on autotrader. Several with 20,000 miles around $200k. I believe dealers add $20k to $30k over private party so that would put you $170k-$180k. I tried selling a Ferrari private party once and it was a huge hassle. If you want to bypass that I would call your dealer and see what they would cosign it for or I would call Mike at Yellow Compass.

$200-210k. $180k is way too low for red/tan.

    I have a 2012 red/tan 458 with 21k miles on it so $200-$210 sounds great to me

What was the nature of the hassle, if I may ask?

Tons of people "in the market for a Ferrari" who take up your time with no intention to buy. Ask to see maintenance records and are worried that an oil change 5 years ago was a month late. Car is practically worthless at that point. Then you either get a low ball offer or you say to sure to their offer and they have "to check with the wife." One guy wanted to see the car and showed up in a clapped out mini van. Knew nothing about the car. Talked about 90s corvettes the entire time. He said he would buy the car but was worried that the heat from the engine would break the glass on the engine bay cover so he had to pass. It took up way too much of my time so I ended up trading it in and getting the tax write off for the trade in value. Sure maybe I could have made another $10k but wasn't worth it in the end.

That said, this was before I was really into fchat and plenty of guys have sold cars to other fchatters on here with no problem.

On one hand it wasted my time, on the other hand I learned a valuable lesson.

Definitely don’t sell a high end car yourself.
A consignment is best and get you a better return they normally charge 5% over here but you’ll get 10% more than if you could sell privite so it’s a win win . If you don’t mind waiting this is the way to go no hassle for you whatsoever.
Tyre kickers even thieves turning up wasting your time is not on
Or ring around dealers and get the best offer but you’ll get 20-30 k less than consignment as a rule
It’s in the right color low ish miles so should sell instantly
