No, not really. To some it might be nice looking, but it definetely is not timeless. A "regular" 812 might be closer to it.
And not to forget how tasteless most of the Comps' specs are...

I don’t think it is timeless at all, lines don’t flow, lots of tuner style additions, the dumb “vortex generators”, I do not think it will age well at all.

Curious if you feel same about 296 Aperta?

Actually no I don’t. I think the 296 is fundamentally a prettier design, with smooth surfaces and muscular features, especially the rear wheel arches and side air intakes. The front is also fairly classic and the ducts around the headlights are interesting.

You can debate the go-faster bits added from the base model, but on balance, I have to say I like them.

The car feels a little “boxter” like for me in terms of size, but overall I would say it is a successful design likely to age well.

Love the base model design, and esp GTS. The added Speciale bits look out of place to me, but not as egregious as some other cars.

    Market is now set.

Sale today of a loaded red Maranello miles comp. at Mecum: $1.54M ($1.4M before buyer premium and $1.54M inclusive of the buyer premium).

This seems to be consistent with an overall softening of the car market in general. Most likely due to economic uncertainty and a (not unexpected) dip from the strong growth seen in the last few years. With the exception of the F50 which has seen a big lift from the hype of the upcoming RL car at Sotheby’s, most cars seem to be dipping a bit and staying on market longer.

While some are still asking record prices for cars (I’m seeing this a lot with the Carrera GT and F40), it doesn’t seem they’re moving that quickly or at those asking prices.

In short, markets go up. Markets go down. I’d say $1.5m isn’t surprising in this market and still a solid jump over the original MSRP (likely given that car is a collectible spec without anything too polarizing)

Decent, but pedestrian spec. Needed painted shields at least.

Agree. Also, isn’t RC one of the less desirable colors for a “special” V12, given it is the most “standard” Ferrari color? IMHO, RC doesn’t even suit the base 812 or F12 particularly well to begin with.

The absolute best color for the 812! It's one of the best for many cars but especially the 812.
