My niece is probably done owning her 2005 21' Moomba tow boat that I may acquire. My thinking is sharing it with a member here who could: a) Enjoy the use of it with their family and friends and b) Store it on their property, preferably in a large indoor garage in the Phoenix area. It's been a great boat that my niece has had many epic adventures with it such as a near jackknife where the bow went through the rear of her 4Runner and the night it was nearly swamped during a storm on a lake! If I do acquire it, I'll want to refurb all of the upholstery and carpet, maybe even paint it. As for it's 350V8, it runs quite well.

If there is any interest here, shoot me a PM.

My Niece told me I can drive up to Nor Cal and pick up the boat! OK, a garage is needed.

I thought it was second best, and the best is when you sell it?

    I owned ski/wakeboard boats for 25 years.

Last time I owned a boat it cost me $1,850 each time I took it out. Malibu Wakeboard.

that was 2005, can’t imagine what the costs would be today.

Dock with lift rental, crap to go into it, maintenance, gas, insurance, and what I lost in value in the 3 years I owned it (paid cash so no interest)

    Boat: short for:

    Break
    Out
    Another
    Thousand

Now when I need one I rent it.

Anyway what would you do with it? I'm not a geography major but I think AZ is landlocked. Are you going to park it in your driveway and have boat parties on it?

Yes. I used to live in AZ and boating is very popular there. I found it odd at first as I'm from FL and grew up water skiing and wakeboarding, but yes only a few lakes there and are wildly popular. Havasu, Powell, etc. I remember seeing a community in Phoenix that has their own ski lake with homes having docks for it right on it. edit: Crystal Point Estates

I would recommend indoor storage at Pleasant Harbor Marina(375/month) although they do offer outdoor economy storage as well. My brother and I had a slip there many moons ago, sure is nice to just turn up after work and have fun rather than tow the boat around in traffic. PM me if you need a temporary outdoor storage spot in Phoenix while you sort through things.

Just a few............................320 miles! There are three good sized lakes close by. I found it interesting there are a lot of people here who rent their driveways and side yards for car, small RV and boat storage for $50 ~ $75 a month.

Not sure what carries more sticker shock, the price of a new Cessna 172 or a new 21' tow boat!
