That's fair, I do feel it takes a certain person to buy it. I did wrap the roof black to at least get that look until I sell it.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful example. I only know about the car because I was considering it. But even when you rip the car in the secondary market, you only solidify your floor, you never really participate in any upside. Nevertheless, at your entry point, you can drive the car and enjoy it especially knowing that you are not spending $200,000+ in depreciation like the first owner. And well done on the roof wrap. That was a no brainer.

 

I am curious what you think of this offer. They have a spider listed at $660k. The difference in MSRP between the stradale and their spider is about $105k. I offered them a $150k spread between the two cars, doesn't really matter to me how they value each. They were insulted by that offer.

Both cars are 2023, they have about 1100 miles I have about 220 miles. On paper this all seemed fair to me, but their reaction made it seem much different.

 

My thought is that MSRP is almost irrelevant in the tertiary market. The actual value of the car is what the market decides. MSRP is what the first person values the car at their own personal spec. Secondary sets a new floor for that car. Tertiary market will see the secondary price as the “new MSRP” if you will. So, in their mind, the offer is for you to essentially take no depreciation on your car because it is a tertiary car, so to speak.

I could be totally wrong, but that’s how I would see it through their eyes.

 

I completely agree with you.

The reason I changed my original search from spider to stradale is because I felt that the spiders have more room to drop than the stradale and the spread between the two would tighten.

I decided to get a stradale for now and cure my itch while that happened over the next year. Now I am just being impatient because a nice spec popped up locally.

I could be completely wrong about my theory in general, but either way it makes more sense to wait and see.

 

Man I want one of these cars. I just don't like the prices just yet. Ugh..

 

... enjoy today because tomorrow is not promised, if the price does not change your tomorrow, then buy what you want and enjoy it... just IMHO

 

I think I know which car you referring to. I'm looking at it as well.
It's a very nice spec but what bothers me is that we would be owner #3. Makes me think that resale may be even worse. Right?

 

I'm not sure it's going to mean much in the long term, but I could be wrong. I wasn't really worried about being the third owner.

It's a great spec, not a huge fan of the liverey, but still a great spec.

No I haven't, there is a short reel on their Instagram page that shows it pretty well. Their listing photos are horrible.

 

Agreed. The pictures are over processed. I told the sales person.

 

Would you be trading in your car? If so, I am curious if you are ok with their trade in value.

 

I popped in to the Austin store to get a number for my 670k MSRP Stradale with 1800 miles against that 1100 mile Spider with an 853k sticker.

They basically said they can’t take any SF90 coupe in on trade for a nickel over 400k. Regardless of market value. Why? They can’t get rid of them. Spiders are the only getting action.

 

I don't think spiders are getting much action either. They are slowly trending under $600k. That spider will probably sell soon because it's a good spec, and being a 24 helps, but that green one they have has been sitting there forever.

 

The green one is in rough shape inside. Stains on the seat inserts and whatnot. PPF is in rough shape too. I bet that car did some rallies.

As for the blue car, good spec but it is an AF car. So the painted livery and no axle lift make it a tough sell on top of the much stiffer suspension for a spider.

It is beautiful though…

Yeah, wasn’t expecting such a gut punch. I don’t hate my car enough to take that sort of beating. I can flip it even to a new 296 GTS if I need a drop top that bad. They’ll give away an unsold GTS right now.

 

Did you notice anything wrong with it like the green one? Does the livery look better in real life?

 

My trade is a 296gts so not too bad at the moment. The trade in number they gave me was ok. Not the best, not the worst.

 

It's such a nice color, not sure why someone would spec the liverey on it. Every person I showed a picture of the car to questioned the liverey.

Probably not something you would want to do, but I guess you could always wrap the liverey to a darker color so it doesn't stick out as much.

 

Yes. I wish it was just the white stripe like some of them.

 

The green one needs all new PPF up front and the driver's seat inserts (light grey part) replaced or cleaned severely. Also some wear and tear on the inside toe kick for a car of so little miles.

As for the livery, I like it...but it's certainly not for everyone. They have had a hard time with the livery on a spider IMO.

I saw a couple of small impact spots on the PPF up front and that is it. The car is in absolutely pristine condition for my standards of a CPO low mile car.
