    Did you buy?

This would be very close to what I had as the Larini manis are similar to Capristos. I really don’t recommend 200 cell with this setup if you’re after volume. 100 cell or less. 200 cells don’t guarantee no CEL either. It’s a crapshoot.

I did buy. The Kline cats and exhaust arrive tomorrow actually. The Larini manifold was supposed to arrive 2-4 weeks before the Kline parts but somehow I still don't have an expected delivery date for that.

I went with the 200 cell cats because I actually don't want to make it too much louder than stock.

It won’t be louder than stock. Might even be quieter. You’ll see ;).

Yes, the Kline muffler works in mysterious ways. It's basically the same volume whether or not you have aftermarket headers although there's an absolutely sharp difference with the valves open if you have headers.

I actually think it's a bit too quiet. Wonder if you can put sleeve or something over the pin on the valves to leave them open just a crack to get some sound back.

I have one of those. They're only on or off though. Wondering if there's a way to ad a wedge or something so it doesn't close off all the way though.

@INTMD8 tinkered with the bypass valve on his 355 to open slightly at close.

Hi everyone, I'm going to be installing my kline exhaust on my scud tomorrow.

One question, do I need to remove the rear bumper to install? I recall reading that somewhere but I can't find that info anymore.

Have you done a Kline install in a Scud? I know on the regular 430 the X-pipe and all the routing to the tips is one single welded piece so you need to remove the bumper unlike the stock unit or most aftermarket.

The kline cats and muffler/xpipe are now installed on my scud.

Holy crap, I love it. The sound is perfect. High pitch but yet somehow so smooth. It really is like a musical instrument.
While I had the exhaust out, I went ahead and insulated the airbox with some gold foil. I think it adds a nice touch, it's not too much gold, it just peaks through a bit and it will help keep the airbox from getting heat soaked. Plus it glows really nicely on the pipes when the light hits it just right. You can see that golden glow in the one picture along with the inconel on the cat already starting to turn color.

All in all I'm extremely happy with this setup. Honestly I'm a little reluctant to put the Larini manifold on now, the sound is so perfect that any change would probably make it worse...

No sound clips yet, it needs 100 miles or so for the metal to anneal and the real sound to come out. I don't want to post a video of it now and then have the sound change later, making the video inaccurate.

Glad you made the comment regarding sound.

The stock 4-2-1 manifolds already give the correct type of sound (with a valved X-pipe), which is what I’ve been trying to convey this whole time. Going with something very different from stock will probably change the sound.

Unlike the standard F430, Scud manifolds don’t have cats, so it’s not muting the sound or as necessary to change. Main reason to change is to preserve the original manifolds, which are expensive to replace. Last I recall, Scud OE manifolds are $13k.

Other reason to change is higher volume (of the same sound) and more power, which the Capristo certainly gives if you ever feel the need for it. I have no personal experience with Larinis, but hoping it is effectively very similar or perhaps better. * piping layout looks close

Tubis would do the job as well. Very close to stock, but hardly any power improvements. Might increase volume, but I have no experience with them.

The Larini manifold is 4-2-1 like the OEM manifold which is why I went with it.

And yes, main reasons I wanted to change the manifolds are:
    1) Protect my OEM manifolds
    2) Larini is stepped (better/smoother power)
    3) Larini pipe routing and merging is smoother (better/smoother power)
    4) Larini is inconel shielded (cooler engine bay)
    5) Larini is lighter than OEM (but not quite as light as the full inconel Kline)

I will make sure to post back here again when the Larini manifold is on and give my impressions (and videos) on sound.

I would spend some time as is so the sound is engraved in your head. Then once the Larinis go on, you’ll know exactly what changed whether positively or negatively. Looking forward to your review. Glad you’re happy with it.
