Question, is it a bit surprising that with Ferrari trying to make the 12C more of a GT car that they opted for shorter sidewalls with 21" wheels? I think the new wheels look great, but I was surprised they went for less sidewall compared to the 812's 20s.

I have wondered about that as well. I wonder if there are significant changes to the suspension that compensates for that? Should know in a few weeks, hopefully!

I absolutely think they adjusted the suspension, so you are probably correct. Everyone says that unlike the 812, the 12C is proper GT.

The size and aspect ratio were 'set in stone' so to speak because for the first time in ages Ferrari worked with Goodyear as a primary tire supplier for the 12 Cilindri. Yes with that in mind the suspension is tuned for a more supple ride this time to.

    12C is length 186.3" vs 187.2 " SF
    12C wheelbase 106.3" vs 107.2" SF
Front and rear track are the same for both 12C and Superfast.
More weight for the 12C at 3440 vs SF at 3362 lbs.
One advantage the 12C carries is 15% greater structural rigidity. This allows the magnaride suspension to be tuned with greater compliance and also a greater distinction between the settings.

I thought I saw Michelin Pilot Sport S5 on the 12C at the dealer last week. Pretty sure at least.

Yes as noted both tires are available for the 12 Cilindri. Goodyear had worked with Ferrari to develop the Eagle F1 SuperSport tire. First time in something like 30 years they collaborate on a street tire for factory production.

I parked my 812 next to a 12C the other day. Beautiful deep metallic green exterior with privacy rear glass. Aside from the rear, I prefer the 12C. Beautiful automobile.

Keep in mind they developed a 21” wheel for the 812 platform with the SP1/2.

I thought I read somewhere that Ferrari kept the amount of sidewall on the tires about the same despite the increase in the tire diameter which means the entire wheel+tire assembly would be taller, if true. Eyeballing it, Id say the amount of sidewall on the front is a little less.

Either way I can say the design has really grown on me, I think it looks great, its more modern and sophisticated than the 812, and I still love that one too!

    Any more pics?
Havent seen the forged dark forged wheels on the 12C

Looks to be the sharpest rim choice for a red Imola painted car!

There were very few pictures even though it was a new direction for Ferrari and the all important tire technology developed with Goodyear!
