Very happy to say I finally got my Novitec/Capristo system installed and running!
I went for Novitec inconel valved silencer with carbon tips, partnered with Capristo 250 cell sport cats, Capristo valve controller and (initially) Capristo OBD dongle.
When first fired up and Capristo dongle inserted, the dash lit up like a Christmas tree with EVERY warning light showing!
However, Scuderia Car Parts (the UK distributor who had suggested the Capristo dongle) stepped up and replaced it with a Novitec Tectronic and it immediately worked perfectly.
Driven it quite a bit, no CELs, and now the initial coatings have burned off, no smoke or fumes, which was one of my main reasons for going 250 cell.
The other reason is our annual UK MOT test, which I expect the 250 cats to pass.
It sounds lovely, not super raucous or obnoxious like a full decat non-valved system, but SO much better than stock F8.
And a quick press of the valve controller and it's super refined for motorway cruising, genuinely the best of both worlds.
The lower restriction cats and lack of OPF definitely reduces the already minimal turbo lag, this thing almost responds like a hybrid 296, if without the ultimate high end punch.
More importantly to me, it reinstates the character and drama that was the missing ingredient of the F8. It is now a properly involving, exhilarating supercar that makes me whoop with joy with every full throttle blast.
Big thanks to Scuderia Car Parts for supplying all the pieces and sorting the OBD issue quickly.
And for anyone in the UK, I can highly recommend Prestige Autoworks who did an outstanding installation job on my driveway. Dale the owner is an ex-HR Owen Ferrari tech and knows his way around all the modern supercars. They bring their own hydraulic ramps and did the full install in less than a day and for a competitive price without me having to either hang around a workshop all day or organise a lift there and back.

I will get some videos uploaded to YouTube in due course, still working my way through the backlog of vlogs I've recorded since I got my car in December.

Fitted a Novitec inconnel cat back to mine a few weeks back with Techtronic. Getting CEL ‘go to dealer’ multiple times per trip and also ‘Hot Catalyst Slow down’. Techtronic unit is flashing and clearly installed correctly, but obviously something is seriously amiss. Novitec are looking into it, kind of wished I hadn’t bothered really.

Sorry to hear that. What cats, if any, did you install?

"Cat back" normally means silencer change only, i.e. "from the cat back", but I think you mean you removed the cats altogether?
Maybe that causes warning lights that are beyond the ability of the Tectronic to clear. You might need an ECU remap, there is a guy in the UK who faced that with his decatted F8. Result was a lot more power and noise though!

Are you still getting CELs too? Which cats are you running again?

    250. Was actually the first to get them from capristo on my 812. Have been traveling a lot so haven’t had a chance to handle. Will do it next week.

??? No I mean Cat back … which means cat back :)

I didn’t remove my cats, my cats are standard as the car left the factory. I only changed to the Inconnel silencer. CEL lights and “high catalyst temp” warning lights on every trip, still waiting for Novitec to respond.

Just for final clarification: my exhaust is cat back, i did not change the catalysts.

That’s very strange then, your only significant change was the removal of the OPFs which the Tectronic should easily be able to deal with.
    Good luck with a solution.
Did just changing the silencer and removing the OPFs make a significant improvement to the sound?
I couldn’t believe how tiny the OEM silencer is!

Thanks, hoping they will send a new Techtronic. It clearly can’t be operating correctly.

Yes the sound is much improved and loud enough for me I would say. It’s no f12/812 but does have some engine character in its note. Strangely enough, I found it a bit of a shock at first requiring some acclimatisation; I think after 4 years I had gotten so used to the quieter stealthy character of the F8.

jackal2513 I agree with your comment regarding the quieter stealthy sound of the F8. I am getting used to it. However I would certainly welcome more pure sound.

I can’t get passed the softness of the F8 engine. Likely selling mine. Drove a 430 the last few days and it’s incredible. I don’t think TT is for me. It’s sad because I absolutely love every aspect of the F8 other than the feel of the engine. It’s just lacking something for me. Actually really upset about it.

The engine 'feel' is AMAZING in the F8; it's just the sound that's less than previous Ferraris...The engine itself is the most powerful mid V8 Ferrari has ever made and you can definitely feel that. It's ALWAYS in the powerband; no matter what gear or speed, step on the gas and it flies, I actually REALLY like the F8 sound though. It's perfect for me. Still sounds sick when you get on it.

I love every aspect of the F8 but the sound really takes everything out of it for me. I understand what people are always saying about older models being fun no matter what speed you’re at. The F8 is so incredibly powerful it’s hard to get a lot out of it unless you’ve got real open road. I’m still trying to convince myself not to trade it for a 430 scud but every time I A/B them I lean towards the 430. And 812>everything

Everybody has their personal preferences, none of them are wrong. But I definitely don’t think the Ferrari V8 twin turbo can be accused of being soft, unless it’s in Sport or below. In Race and above, it is scalpel sharp with progressive, linear power the NA V8s can’t hope to emulate. It is not surprising to know that it won International Engine of the Year four years running (starting with the 488).
The sport cat and OPF delete of my Novitec/Capristo set up further releases even more ferocious throttle response, it is basically completely lag free.
Having said that, it will never sound anything like as good as the 812!

everything you’re saying is 100% accurate and I agree with all of it. I love every single aspect of the car from the looks, my spec, the comfort and the fact that it’s an utter animal when you want but for some reason the sound when I step on the gas or downshift just isn’t there. I barely get sound at low RPM. Trying to get passed it. Not having the easiest time.
