Hey in the actual race he came out just ahead of the cars that crashed or blew up!
In the actual race he came in right behind his team mate, only seconds apart. Yes, at the end of the field. The car is a POS.
Aston Martin hasn't much improved the 2024 design for this season. They seem to put their resources on a Newey car for 2026 and the new rules.
Congratulations. I think we are breaking new ground here with Lance being described as a ‘safe pair of hands’!!! Absolutely world class attempt to re-write history right there.
Like never. Lance got lucky and Alonso unlucky. But: Lance drove some solid races not making mistakes and Alonso less so (spun on his own in Miami for instance). I think Alonso has given up at this point. Plus the car is a POS, apparently last year's car as they focus on the 26 model.
Lance has done nothing but tripped and fell into some points. Alonso has pushed that piece of junk car to Q3 at times and has failures and been crashed out to get nothing. If this season ended now the Wikipedia kids would say Stroll dominated Alonso.
No doubt that Lance has had fortune help him a lot and it certainly is driving the haters mad that he has so many more points than Alonso this far into the season
Congrats to Lance for making it to Q3 (as well as Alonso of course). Even on Medium tyres. AM brought some nice improvements to Imola.
Lance not that far off of Alonso in qualifying. Let's see how both do in the race....hopefully both bring in a good haul of points.
I could use some clarification. Lance definitely got the upgrades in practice, and Alonso didn't. Alonso definitely had the upgrades in qualifying, but did Lance? I'm hoping both cars got the full updates.
Based on the commentators (who were these clowns?) it sounded like Lance didn't have them in qualifying but I find that hard to believe. I bet they both had them.
Shame no points for Aston today. They have their troubles but I still wish them a better season than they have had so far.
The fact that they got both cars into Q3 gives me hope for the next few races. With a different tire strategy they could have scored points. Hopefully next time. Until then Lance remains the sole bread/points winner of the team. Also seems to indicate that AM hasn't written the season off just yet.
There has to be a post about how terrible Lance Stroll is around Monaco. He has a history of being garbage around this track and he has proven it again. Not only was he slow, he managed to drive directly into the path of a car on a fast lap. Not once, but twice. 1 grid place penalty for a practice impeding 3 grid place penalty for a qualifying impeding. Fortunately for him he was already in the bottom 5 so it won't make a difference. In fact he will likely start from the pit lane with a new setup and the team surely will pit him in the first lap and put him on hard tires and save him a pitstop.
It is hard to understand how old man Stroll can be so rich and also be so dumb...and for so long. All he has done is piss away a lot of money, and given his son the opportunity to look like a compete no-talent fool. A a movie company and a yacht full of hookers could have accomplished the same thing for Lance, and at a lot less money. They even could have partnered with Lewis on the F1 movie. A Stroll-Hamilton motion picture extravaganza...
It's his money, let him "piss it away" as he chooses with regards to his son.....a fathers love can sometimes blind him.....to the point of inexcusable.
AM F1 team is a pretty damn decent asset probably worth 10x his original investment, and with plenty of sponsors it doesn't really cost him much to run it. That said I'd have that idiot son out long ago. Let him play in the Aston GTP instead. We've seen time and time again now the development keeps going towards making an easier to drive car for Lance but it makes for a slower overall car. What's the point!
Any time now we'll get that crow feast we've been promised for quite a while now. Tell you what, I hope the wait is worth it.
