now that he's had 8 races to "acclimate" to the car, he's run out of excuses. either he's only good if the car suits him (not really the hallmark of a 7x champion), or he's well past his prime.

Elkann, the mastermind of Stellantis, may have a different approach.

His line of reasoning would be something like "maybe he's not delivering because we didn't pay him enough".

And with that, Hamilton would see his paycheck doubled.

    Brilliant.

    Wouldn't it?

No need to debate. He stated he is one of the goats. His right to make that statement. End of discussion.

There’s nothing to debate so, no, I don’t want to. When he’s retired, he’ll be regarded as one of the greatest of all time. And you will still be yelling at clouds and telling kids to get off your lawn.

    Not by me.
You guys have some mystic standard that you judge Lewis by because you hate him for various silly reasons. Why not just concede the guy is great, HAS won the most GP’s, and move on. Instead we get stupid Captain Obvious stuff like “your first job is to beat your team mate”…which he did…enough to win 7 WDC’s.

Next level genius at work here, Christ.
"Just accept it, I have the wikipedia results everyone, LOOK! JUST LOOK AT IT!!!"

Yes he'll be regarded as one of the best. But he'll also be the one that got beaten to a title by his teammate. He'll also be the one beaten by numerous teammates he shouldn't be beaten by, in his prime no less.

I'm no more wrong than you are right.

Yes, 6 of those WDC titles came when he turned 29yo in the MercedesAMGF1 turbo-hybrid era dominance with FIA gifted regulations for several years. He got lucky and hats off to him for being at the right place at the right time. Won't happen again just like Ferrari's dream team of the 2000's.

Max doesn't have that "luxury" and he's 27yo with 4 WDC titles under his belt which is more than what Hamilton had at 27yo....no FIA help with regulations....all skill and talent. Even today, Max doesn't have Newey and is fighting tooth-and-nail against 2 McLaren drivers, 2 Ferrari drivers, and 2 MercedesAMGF1 drivers while keeping himself in 3rd place in the WDC title hunt and keeping RedBull in 3rd place in the WCC title standings ALL BY HIS FREAKIN SELF!!!

Wikipedia tells me that Rosberg and Bottas were the tied for the 2nd best drivers of all time. But only when they drove for Mercedes during certain years.

I also know that Gasly, Albon, Perez, Lawson, and Tsunoda are the worst drivers of all time. But only when they drove for Red Bull during certain years.

    Now that I agree with. There’s a reason there’s not a pack of 40 year old WDC’s

Did Sir Lewis Hamilton have the luxury of an F1 dad and mom who raced, ties to F1, began training for F1 from the start etc?

Where did this come from and who cares? I can't even name Lauda's team mates, or Clarks etc. You guys get high off of team mate battles, if that's your thing so be it. Hulkenberg beat his team mate last year., Idon't care. I don't don't see how this team mate stuff is exciting for you all. Winning is what gets me going.
