Every year the same pointless discussion. Don't like it, don't watch it.

I keep saying it...Qualifying is the absolutely highlight. Occasionally a great race pops up (2023 Max V Alonso V the Weather).

We know Monaco is very likely boring. Yet we all tune in.

True, but that doesn't mean that F1 shouldn't require Monaco to change/improve the track to keep the race on the schedule. Seems silly to change the race rules just for this race (rather than the track) to try to make it a better race.

Better still, save yourself the sky high costs and go the Historic Monaco Grand Prix.
Better cars, better sounds, even some overtaking. Less celebrity riff raff.

One day, a FIA President, or the Liberty CEO will see the light about Monaco and say: "Enough of that nonsense !!"
The track, which doesn't conform in any way, shape or form to the norms imposed to other F1 circuits on the championship calendar, will not see its licence renewed. Liberty will easily find an alternative venue, and the Monaco GP will be something of the past.
That day cannot come soon enough.

I think you are right but I would have one last thing. I would keep the date, keep it 3 days, and have all the current F1 drivers drive some of the vintage cars. So its an off day "holiday" for F1 at Monaco.

What does that have to do with anything? There are a milllion things better enjoyed in person than on tv but myself and millions of others don’t have the wherewithal to attend every race in person. Zero over takes- people driving slowly- the race sucked today. Change the track or venue but this was unwatchable.

The cars are what they are, but they weren't the problem today; the confines of Monaco were.

When cars can apparently provide good racing at 23 different circuits, but are not suited to Monaco, you can draw your own conclusion.

The value is not in the race. It’s in the surroundings- which has nothing to do with the race. Move the race elsewhere and I’ll happily take. Vacation to Monaco.

I went twice: 72 and 73. Great spectacle then with smaller, wildly different cars (okay, the rain was a ***** in 73). Was really disappointed when my father's business partner sold his apartment which overlooked Mirabeau and Station hairpin.

I have a different view. To me, the Monaco GP is exactly what an F1 street race should be. Flowing track, good mix of corners that follow the actual road, some straights that should promote passing, and elevation changes all in a beautiful location that has multiple organic viewing locations (private apartments, hillsides, etc) and extracurriculars that aren’t reliant on the Liberty circus.

However, the racing has been bad, and that falls totally on F1, not the location. You constantly hear that Monaco is F1’s crown jewel, yet every rule change moves the cars farther and farther away from something that would be interesting to race at Monaco. The conscious decision to consistently cover your crown jewel in poop seems like an odd choice for a spectator and sponsorship run business. Calls into question the competency of those making decision.

And it’s not just Monaco. How many weekends do we hear Sky or F1TV say over and over again, “It’s really hard to pass on this track,” or “It’s almost impossible to pass here.” Why not create a technical rule set that allows cars to provide great racing on the tracks you already have on the schedule instead of trying to force new races into places like Rwanda or an industrial center parking lot?

Plus, this already exists, F1 doesn’t need to recreate it. https://www.goodyearfiaetrc.com/

todays new format did require the front runners to actually race to their max.
Indy Motor Speedway would be a perfect place for overtaking. half the track is road course and half the track is oval.
make it a mans man track and see how many of these coddled whiners show up. i know Alonso will but who else?
