Is your steering wheel adjuster acting up?

    I saw a few other threads asking the same question with no real answer. So here is what I did.

    Mine would work fine going out or up, but in and down might work but usually didn't.

    I removed the switch and checked the contacts but it was working fine.

    I moved onto the relays which were located under the drivers seat (I have carbon seats). I removed the relays gave them a tap on the table, popped them back in and everything works now.

    They are basic 12v relays and if you have a bad one they are at any autoparta store for under $10. The part number on the relay is K1-1144-0033.

    458 or 488? Are they the same?

    This is for a 458, but only the relay location might be different.

    The manual or follow your ear works for finding them.

    On my 488 they occasionally stop working. Have to fiddle with it a bit. This is good to know in case they decide to stop working all together.

    I was going to ask 488 ? However it has been answered.

    The reason why I was going to ask was the power steering wheel is added with electric seats however you said your seats were carbon ?

    I had this issue with my 488. It was quite random, sometimes it would work sometimes not. Dealer replaced whole steering column under warranty. Good to know there might be a cheaper fix if it happens again!

    Correct, my seats are carbon. But I honestly dont think I have ever seen a 458 without it.
