Hi all, As some of you will know I kept getting some very hard to trace electrical issues. The car went through about 3 fuel pumps in a short period. Sometimes would run rough for a few seconds and then be fine for a long time but then would run rough for a longer period. When testing all the sensors, relays, fuses and EHAs etc. I finally after a long time found that when I bypassed the fuse panel the car was perfect. I can fully recommend Guidos panel. The workmanship and support from him is amazing. His communication was some of the best I've had with any supplier. I would thorough recommend changing yours if it's still standard. Mine is noticeably better in every way. Even the lights seem better. I opted for a panel from Guido as I wanted to keep it as close to original looking as possible. I also spent a bit more time and modified the fuse section to keep my stock surrounds. The job took me around 12 hours in total. I took lots of photos and kept double checking all the wires as I was passing them through before crimping them. Even then I still got 2 green ones mixed up but when doing a final inspection before reconnecting the battery I found the error and fixed it. This is the final result. And some photos after of the journey.
I have a GT parts board in my car, works well, but I still have to check for burnt connectors every few years. Guido's solution is to replace all the female connectors on the white connectors with new, I did that with 3/16" gold connectors on the troublesome circuits: fuel pumps, ac condenser fan. Tedious but worth it if you have the patience. Alden
What do you mean by that? I see in replying that there are supposed to be photos, which probably answer my question, but they are not showing up for me.. Anyone seeing the photos here?
Where did you get the replacement connectors? Are the white plastic connectors available as well? Have you found newly burnt connectors since installing the GTCP board?
No pictures for the moment...maybe Craig uses an other format than allowed or to much pictures in 1 time. Those white plastic plugs you find here (no affiliation !) = https://www.redbaycars.com/webshop.html#!/products/fusebox-connectors Be aware they have not the safety notches on the side. You have to look first how to put them in place (they can be turned around).
I made them myself, 3/16-in gold-plated female connectors. I did find burnt connectors on the fuel pumps and the condenser fan. The GT parts board was put in by the previous owner. See this thread about why the connectors fail: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/why-fuse-relay-board-connectors-fail.701515/ Alden Image Unavailable, Please Login
@theunissenguido so you recommend replacing all the female connectors (metal parts) and the plastic holders when replacing the board? @Alden are there many of those single wire connectors? I really need to find some time to dig into my 512TR and 550 fuse boards and get them back on the road..
The single wire connectors are contained within the white connectors. There are quite a few, probably 50 or more, although I only found three on my board that were burnt. That was both fuel pump circuits: start up and running, and the condenser fan circuit. I try to service my board every few years, take it out. Check the solder joints. Replace all the relays and fuses, spray everything with deoxit. Alden Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Single wire connectors = Mondial QV /3.2/t = 73 Mondial 8 = 74 328 = 72 TR/Testarossa = 77 F40/288GTO = 76 400i/412 = 86 512TR = 88 550 = 90 456 = 89 There are some connectors with 2 wires together....counting for 1. Fuse boards for F40/288GTO, all mondials, 328, TR/ Testarossa, 400i/412 come with the gold colored female connectors included. The boards for 512TR, 550 and 456 are plug and play, so do not need other connectors unless they are burned. The white plastic plugs can be re-used if not burned. For the colored plastic plugs from 550, 512 and 456 idem dito.
Hi all sorry for the late reply been too busy these days. No idea why the photos arent showing to some people. They are the same format I always use and uploaded to Fchat for hosting. I've taken another photo of the board installed with the fuse area where I modified it to keep it looking original.
Ok, Craig did sent me the pictures he toke and cannot post them over here. So, I do it for him. This is how his OEM TR board looked like = Image Unavailable, Please Login
His new board (already installed in the housing) compared to the OEM one. He did cut the plastic protections that are put around the fuses....not really needed, but for the look to be more original he did put the effort in it. Image Unavailable, Please Login

A last picture how the white plastic plugs have to be cut so they can hold the connectors that come with those boards. A job of 2 to 3 hours with a Dremel of fine saw. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Guido, Is it the red outlined areas that are cut out of the white connectors to make room for the larger (3/16"?) Female spade connectors? Alden Image Unavailable, Please Login
Correct ! When removing the white plugs, make sure the wires stay in a correct position, before cutting the OEM female wire connectors. I use a very fine electric wire and turn this around each wire, one after one other, so the wires stay in the same configuration. Once the wires removed, cut those white plugs as in the picture above. Cut deep and wide enough so when installing back over the wires, there is no resistance. This is a picture of this process, putting the wires first trough each hole of the white plug and then putting the new connector on the wire. Image Unavailable, Please Login
That's what I had to do for the few circuits where I replaced the connectors: Fuel pump circuits and the condenser fan. I think it would be a good idea to replace them all, I have a GT parts board so that takes care of that, but I think replacing all the connectors is a great idea, but tedious. Alden
Alden, you mentioned this = "I try to service my board every few years, take it out. Check the solder joints. Replace all the relays and fuses, spray everything with deoxit. Alden" That is tedious also. I did put my board in 2007. Toke it out in 2017 (if I do remember the year correctly) to see how it is handling. And to my surprise it did look exactly the same like in 2007. I do not mess with the fuses, relays or the wiring. Just leave it if all is working correctly.
I used his board as well. I didn't end up using the White connectors at all. I just did a new female connector on each wire with electrical tape about 1mm from the tip of the connector for insulation. So far so good.
Guido, post a picture of the back of one of your boards that you make so everyone can see what the inside of a Russian tank wiring looks like! LOL! Guido's are made very well! Alden
I'm not allowed over here. Will put 2 pictures in my sales ad. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/new-fuse-boards.705873
Thank you for posting the photos Guido. I actually used a Stanley knife to cut the white connectors. Put them on my bench and just pressed down on each of them and the turned both sides and again used the knife to cut the end piece. Was super easy and quite quick. I also too lots of photos before removing anything just in case I mixed up the wires. I also had two different coloured wires coming to the box from the fans as someone had cut and soldered straight to the board. That took me a bit of back and forth with the wiring diagram and tracing the wires figuring out what was what.
