Daytona and Le Mans are not really drivers' circuits, IMO. They are cars' circuits. Endurance and F1 are like chalk and cheese. Alonso tried endurance, and came back to F1.
I like to see drivers do different types of motorsport. Whilst the 2 types or racing are very different, Max can show of his ridiculous consistency. Much like Alonso did when he did Le Mans and Daytona
At least he's being schooled by a car that's 1 second a lap quicker than his. Leclerc schooling Hambone must be a truly humbling experience for you lot
Don't try to prop him up. Max got schooled. And its not the first time. Piastri has no respect for Max lol.
What makes Max so good in my opinion is his true passion for motorsposrt. Just like a Senna, the guy lives and breathes F1, drives on his off days, esports etc... I dont know if he is as good as senna was for setting up the cars but he is great.
just a question, but I haven't heard that Senna was all that special at setting up cars. What is this based on? To me, I would say Senna wasn't very good at setting up cars. His results say he went for outright speed and got lots of poles and yet couldn't turn those into wins. That isn't a good setup to me. I mean, points were still earned on Sundays back in his era.
I’m not sure I would say that Piastri has no respect for Max. I think there is definitely respect there. But I would say that Piastri is not afraid of Max. No intimidation.
The difference between Senna and Prost was interesting to watch when they were both at McLaren. Senna prepared his car for maximum performance to get a good grid position on Saturday. Prost was setting his car for the whole race, ready to sacrifice some speed to obtain a durable performance.
I was referring to no respect on track/racing. Being aggressive putting Max in a comprimising position etc.
I definitely think Max is the best active F1 driver by far. He was too brash in beginning, but has become a complete champion in recent years. The only weakness for him is if the car isn't there.
He cures cancer next lol?? World turns. Nothing special at all. Not a hero. Just a big wanker today. Greatest lol!
There were several mitigating circumstances as Max did nothing wrong according to the SkySports play-by-play incidents.
He is the best driver of the last several years. Max is not dealing with adversity well. Showed his ass today.
I certainly can't blame him. RB put him on the hards with 11 laps to go and the SC came in with 6 laps to go I believe. RB told Max to give the position back in T1 against Russell when Max did nothing wrong in T1.
