I need some help deciding between the F8 Tributo and Huracan Evo 4WD. I will provide some info for what I am looking for. F8 likely a 20/21 plate and Evo 22. Approx £200k, not looking to go over £225k but willing to spend more on an F8 to get a 21 plate.

Any options that are a must? will get 360 camera for F8 & will have both sides of the Evo repaired once a year!
I am looking for something as comfortable as possible so will be getting leather, full electric seats for either.
I will likely only keep the car for 2 or 3 years.
I will get one with the manufacturers warranty and intend to extend it.
No carbon fibre on the bottom half of the vehicle or wheels (Ferrari) but dripping elsewhere would be ideal!
No track use. Occasional EU trip, Germany and Cote d'Azur, Le Mans.
Limited 'Race' & 'Corsa' mode usage. I don't wish to make a common mistake, though maybe the exhaust note of the huracan may force me to use 'Corsa' mode more often for the sound.

Sadly the F8 is only rear wheel drive but I am also not complaining, i just prefer 4WD for UK weather, though the ferrari wet mode is excellent as I have read. I know I will get caught in the rain, UK!
Is the huracan 'strada' mode as good for wet driving / better than the F8 'wet' mode?
I have not test driven either but have been driven in both.
The F8 has held it's value better over the last few months.
Is the cruise control on the F8 easy to access / use while driving? Evo has buttons on the steering wheel for cruise. I believe the buttons for the F8 are on the dash?
How is the launch control on the F8? Is it limited? Can this be used frequently on the F8 without causing too many problems? Do i need to ask how many times the F8 has been launched? Same for the evo.

My brain is fried at this point, it would be great to hear about the differences from people experienced with both.
Are there any / many complaint's about the F8's reliability? I have only heard good things, but everyone raves about how bulletproof the Evo's engine is.

First how tall are you? If you are over 6ft the Huracan will be cramped and your head will be at the roof. I have an F8 but had the Huracan before but i'm 5' 9". Comfort well the Huracan is hard as nails but a beast to drive, loud, obnoxious, the suspension is hard on your back.

Think of the F8 as taking your wife out as James Bond, cool, more well mannered, nicer on everything, but the huracan is more you are Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible, getting into stupid situations. The F8 is more powerful and if you have a lead foot you are going to get into trouble with the rear wheel drive. The exhaust sound just sucks though in the F8 compared to the nasty naturally aspirated V10 on the Lambo. In a straight line though I think the F8 will just edge the Lambo. Don't forget the Ferrari comes as standard with 7 years of service included, the Lambo doesn't

Cruise control???? WTF why would you even use it?

Strada on the Lambo never used it, I always had it in sport, no issue in rain with all wheel drive. On my F8 I keep it in race as I like to listen to the change downs makes the exhaust sound better and the car is a bit more alive, but yes if it rains because of the rear drive put it in wet mode. I have never Launched on either, don't need to, both will put your ass back in the seat without it so cant answer that.

With regards to Carbon and the aesthetics, that's up to you, I would say keep it inside rather than outside as any damage will ruin your bank account and your mood, I have no idea what you can get in the UK for the pound amount you stated. Regarding options, a front lifter on the Lambo is a must, it's not if you are going to scrape the front lip, it's how many times a day, I suggest yo get that 3M underside protection that's about a 8th inch thick, I cant remember what its called but it saved mine daily. It is a good idea on the F8 too but if you are careful you can get away without it

Best of luck, feel free to ask more questions, and note to everyone else this is just my opinion, I don't need lectures on how I'm wrong on something.

I'm just a touch under 5' 9". Cruise control will help me keep my licence on the motorway!
So the F8 is more comfortable and sits slightly higher. I will get the front lift on either.
    Great info, thanks.

First, drive both. Also, is AWD not 4WD. You don't need either for the rain. RWD is more fun in my opinion. I have an EVO and I am 6'2" so I have to slouch so I am not staring into the sun visor and I have to do this lean over and look up thing to see traffic lights at a stop. The steering feel is best in Strada its just the rest of the car is more time. You don't get all of the exhaust sounds either in Strada (like when you gun it then let off the gas you get a crackle but not in Strada for some reason).

My neighbor had a Evo Huracan I am 6'4/5" and had to take my left leg off...lucky me I have a prosthetic leg....hilarious...popped it off and left it in the front yard... and I crammed myself in the car for a short drive. It really is a cool car, has emotion and great great sound. We just drove around the suburbs.

The biggest things I noticed was:
F8 has way more torque and feels quick on the street. Neighbor agreed.
F8 steering feels slightly more direct and responsive
F8 is way more comfortable for me...maybe not for you.
    Lambo sounds better stock 100%
Interiors both look nice but I feel the Ferrari will age better as the Lambo looks more digital and angular

Ask this question on the Lambo board. Honestly both are great cars, Lambo costs less, less power different look all a personal choice.

Mike, your F8 is a great spec. I'd take it over a Lambo any day. Your interior is perfect.

PS: Get an exhaust asap, you know you wanna! HAHA

Not so easy to get a test drive in the UK, fairly standard here unless you are known.
I doubt I would care much in any case as either are dream cars. Also modern so easy to drive casually!

Great info, I was thinking about asking on the lambo forum also, so i will do.
really good info though, if you found it comfortable I am sure I will too.
height or size isn't an issue for me.
You are spot on for all the points you made. I agree with the F8 aging better.

Thanks, I've had a few vehicles but a level down! cruise is a must for me as I would take it to the EU with plenty of motorway driving. It is very difficult keeping it at a steady pace without the cruise. It's also extremely handy here where we have speed cameras. Drive as you do then stick on the cruise where the cameras are. It's an instant 3 points on your licence and a small fine. 12 points and licence gone. So, yes you could lose your licence on one stretch of road here. We also have them on motorways as its a common trick that people drive fast against another car, then slam on the brakes just before you get to the camera and watch the other noodle get flashed. My friends in Seattle were not happy about this when I told them about the cameras here as i believe it may be illegal there??

Slightly off tangent, but we got a group of friends (4 couples) together for an all day 8 hour event back in Nov. put on by OpenRoad where we drove 488s / GT3s / Huracan Evos for about 250 miles out of Sonoma and to the coast. Everyone had their eyes on the 488, beautiful car, and we all eventually drove all 3 models both husbands and wives. It was a really good way to get an extended "test drive". At the end of the day there was a 100% consensus. The Huracan Evo Spyder was the most fun to drive, the NA V10 with no turbo lag and lively exhaust delivered big smiles. 488 Spider was the best looking car, but not as exciting. I was the only one who appreciated the GT3, but prefer a spider. We actually all just got together last week for a Scuba trip and we were all still talking about driving the Lambo. My wife said " The perfect experience that day was driving the Lambo and following (watching) the Ferrari" My wife and I are NA fans, so we tried for the best of both worlds and bought a 2014 Rosso Corsa 458 Spider last week. We are going to pick it up either tomorrow or Friday, weather depending. Good luck with your decision, as those are both amazing rides.

Thanks, didn't think this was off tangent at all. Very interesting insight and indeed I too am a big 458 & NA fan. But those F8 specs such as top speed and as many youtube reviews state the F8 is along the lines of the 'best supercar in the world' for price! TopNL review was great. I believe the 458 will become a future classic that could increase in price fairly significantly but not OTT, again in good time, I agree this could just be wishful thinking. For me the 458 was the first Ferrari that was as appealing on the inside as well as the outside. Thank you for your advice.

Out of interest, though this is not the vehicle for me, I see a silver F8 on autotrader (UK) for £219,995. It is drippiong in CF inside and out including CF wheels so a big no no for me as I will not get CF on lower part of vehicle especially wheels! Also I much prefer red which carry a premium as they disappear very quickly.

If you look at the first pic I have posted the air intake above the front lights are to cool the brakes (please correct me if I am wrong, don't hold back!) However, this section has CF trim. Rather than embarass myself with speculation and fuel the disbelievers... Why? I think I may know and i'm sure as soon as I am told it will match the first answer that is in my mind! Is this the 'carbon fibre headlight bucket' option?

It is the 'carbon fibre headlight bucket' option, which looks like it covers the entire air intake for the brakes (which is why I asked my last question) but I think it just looks like it and it does let air through to the brakes. It's difficult to tell from pictures comparing with carbon fibre and without. I am off in the morning to test drive a Lotus Emira so may pop over to Ferrari but it's over an hour further away so I will see. Emira's here start at £60k for a 2023 with around 10k miles but for £65k they have a 2024 model with 425 miles. Beautiful car and price! Maybe in a couple of years or so after this purchase. I'm sure one day I will get an Emira though.
