Your remarks are absurd, inappropriate, and truly awkward.

Man, that's just terrible. I can't imagine that happening on a car club outing.

Too soon, man...it could have been another car crossing the line for all we know.

I have driven those roads around the Pica d Europe mountain range .
Franco was originally from this NE corner of Spain and basically it’s very undeveloped compared to the cash ( tourism) cow side of the Med East coast .
I was driving with my fiancé in a G60 911 ,the one with the rep for throwing you backwards through hedges with lift off over steer .
We took the ferry from Plymouth ( bottom LHS corner of U.K. ) to Santander .

The roads were shocking I would have been better off in a 4x4 .
This meant basically we crept around coving maybe 40-60 miles / day …..that few .

Once during our 10 day jaunt we headed towards Madrid ….mistakenly thinking there must be a motorway/ dual carriageway or some decent road .
Saw various signs of EU grants for infrastructure eg dams , bridges , roads etc ……. found ourselves on a 3 laner so finally got up to a 1/2 decent speed say 60 - 70 mph pulling 5 th .
Then out of nowhere ( or didn’t see the signs ) it went from 3 to 2 to 1 with a ancient stone humpback bridge .
Then down to single file …..during this single file …….no kidding there was a old woman dressed in black sat astride a donkey .
Fortunately the 911 brakes were superb and it’s a straight bit of road .

I would like to think today, the road infrastructure is better ? But within a few turns you could be driving on similar roads .

Not sure a 488 with its width is suitable??

    I don’t like high speed rally’s anymore .
Crazy dangerous imo not just for the driver / passenger but for pedestrians.
Last one I was on we were going stupid fast over blind hills .
Anything could have been on the other side .
    No more .

On the rare occasions I do group drives, I take the last position in the lineup and ask for the destination. This allows me to drive at safe speeds. In return, I will stop to help any stragglers and I accept that I may arrive at the destination at the end of the bathroom break.

I can. Seen it too many times. Too often group drives turn into mass hysteria.

I'm sorry to hear but not surprised and not too sympathetic unfortunately. I've seen it.. get a bunch of exotic owners on a drive and silly decisions are made...

Yes, we don't know what happened. It would be great if someone in the area had news on the follow up investigation. The baseless speculation about driver incompetence is exactly that, baseless speculation (best kept to oneself).

they should have invested in a driver's school at the Nurburgring.

depending on the instructors, they would have been given a thorough wringing out.

as my instructor (a high exec from Lufthansa told me)..........

"there are many ways to drive fast. that graveyard down there should not be one"........

Nikki Lauda nearly lost his life at my mistake.
