I have the opportunity to build a 12 cilindri (coupe). It would replace my 812 Superfast. I love my 812 SF, along with my 812 GTS. I have a build I love for a 12 cilindri, but the price is $600K+. My 812 SF is a low mileage, loaded spec probably worth $400K. I have a nasty habit of always buying the latest/greatest. But I am torn on this one. I actually like the looks of the 12 Cilindri, but not from every angle. Prefer the non-haptic tech in the 812, 812 look from the rear, louder, more aggressive. And then I question what am I really getting for an extra $200K+? All the reviews say the 12 Cilindri is more refined, less edgy, but sound isn't as loud. Feel like the interior of the 812 SF might age better without all the screens? Granted it is a 5.5 year old car, but has extended warranty for 2.5 more years.

Hard to pass up the new version but I am definitely on the fence. F12 to 812 was an easy decision for me (although F12 is so great). 12 Cilindri took time to look good in my eyes. Rational choice is stick with 812 SF but that is sometimes difficult. But starting to get to where I hate throwing away money just to have the latest version.

First of all its very nice problem to have.

Secondly, if i have 812 SF and 812 GTS i would sell one of them and get the corresponding 12 Cilindri. If the 812SF is 2018/2019 (without those particles filters), i would definitely keep the SF and change the GTS to 12 Cilindri Spider.

As above if your 812sf is a non GPF version then keep it. If you definitely want a 12C then switch your 812GTS for the Spyder 12C.
I just swapped my old 812sf which I had for a newer but still non GPF car with higher spec, lower mileage and a 2 yr 3 month warranty.
I can’t justify the huge up charge for the 12C even if I liked it as much as my 812 which I don’t.

I would sell the 812sf and not get the 12C if I were you. All three cars too similar and the 12C is, well, the 12C. But I bet you get the 12C because you always buy the latest and that xtra ~350k or so will make it less painful.

If the SF is preGPF- keep it( it’s a 10/10 car). The GTS (8/10 IMHO)is a bit more awkward looking from some angles and less legroom if you are over 6’ making it a less comfortable GT whereas the 12C Spider is much better looking(have not sat in one to check the leg room). I sold the GTS. Hoping for a 12C spider after I get to sit in one.

That’s my plan. 2018, 812SF, pre-GPF and first V12 for us. 12C will hopefully be a good semi DD and I’m still dreaming of a road trip!

Agree with you entirely. I have both the 812 Superfast and the 812GTS. I’m selling the Superfast and will probably keep the 812 GTS a little longer. Had the 12C for a couple of days and I was pretty neutral about it. It’s a big relatively heavy car and the design is ok. Aside from not liking the haptics, there were a couple of other things that didn’t do it for me. Haven’t drive the 12C GTS but sitting in it what struck me was it’s a tight cabin and not much luggage capacity. So if the idea of the 12C is being a grand tourer then I don’t see how that works given the way the car is packaged. If you move on from thinking this latest iteration of a Ferrari V12 that’s been in production for years is the best engine in the world, there are better true GT cars out there!

I've driven the 12C and sat in the spider version. The coupe has more legroom, and the cabin is larger as you don't have the spider's rear bulkhead. Having the glass roof also gives the coupe more interior light. At 6'2", I had no issues with legroom in the coupe and found the spider with less but acceptable. The test drive left me with the impression that even though the 12C is wicked fast and deceptive given its dimensions, it is more refined and comfortable than the 812 Superfast.

I'd keep one of the 812's...I'd keep the SF and sell/trade the GTS in. Then I'd get a mid engine Ferrari of your choice...best of both worlds!
