Hi, while replacing my starter solenoid I noticed a shielded box of electronics in the rear quarter. I've looked at the online parts diagrams and couldn't find any reference to it.

Any ideas - alarm, immobiliser maybe?

Attached are a couple of pics (hopefully!)

    TIA

Just another image file format, like PNG, JPEG or GIF, but much more efficient than any of them.

Apols for the file format confusion; attached is a regular jpg format.
There was mention of the charcoal canister, tho' this box has wires coming out of it rather than pipe work

I think we need a better photo.

Is your car a 2.7 or 5.2? The 5.2 already comes with an immobiliser and it's not here. The 5.2 has a Y shaped air intake tract and a single MAF.

Does your car have an aftermarket exhaust bypass controller?
Does your car have normal spark plug leads or a coil on plug system?

UK cars are often fitted with GPS trackers, but this seems like an odd place to put it.

I mean a close-up. There must be some identifying marks on this box.
