I like the spec you’ve came up with, I was considering Sanu silver, I will disagree with you comment that “almost nothing works in terms of spec” I personally have seen in excess of 30 specs done for other customers during my Tailor Made appointment and most of them looked absolutely incredible, some I didn’t like due to my own personal preferences, honestly I can not wait for these cars to trickle down in the hands of the customers, so many can see the specs, also for the reviews to start coming out but ultimately owner’s feedback which I rate higher than anything. I am really looking forward to the “foot in mouth” and the back flipping which will no doubt ensue.

The spec frustration comes from one’s fear of picking the right combo for such an important (also very expensive) car, trust me you do not want to stuff that one up and end up with something which will be very polarising, many things work on the car, with TM you can pretty much do anything but the design and lines of the F80 can be very spec sensitive and that leads to frustration, worry and stress, I get that, I was never so stressed in my life to spec a car and I have done quite a few of them, I was extremely worried before the TM appointment LOL but once we started getting into it I was having a tone of fun.

I’m not so keen on this. When we did our TM spec I looked at this idea. It seemed a better idea than the front to back fade which is dramatic but polarising. The colour palette we were pondering (red/orange/yellow/silver) made it look quite good but the cost was hilarious so we avoided. Using black at the bottom has the effect of raising the base of the car and diminishing the ultra low-slung look of the car, one of its key features. Always subjective and I’m sure the owner will enjoy his choice but it feels very bold.

I agree, the cost and significance of the model really focuses the mind! I also had the feeling that we were spec’ing a little but of Ferrari history and ought to do something a little more traditional with a few personal twists to make the car unique.

Before the appointment I thought the configurator Rosso Dino (which basically looked orange) with grey striping (we often use Grigio Isabel) and silver wheels looked amazing. When it came to it, I couldn’t do orange. Partly because nobody in the room felt it was a great idea - including our (experienced) dealer, all the staff and more influentially my wife - and also because I basically agreed with them. Others may feel different but I think there are so many great versions of classic Ferrari colours (red, yellow, blues such as Azzuro Dino and greys such as CDF) that we should keep to that palette.

In the end we have decided to do a specially commissioned yellow to add rarity, silver wheels to keep with a more historic theme and some quiet references to the F40, which I always thought this car was a spiritual successor to.

The design of this car is spectacular, I have always thought it. As time goes on I believe it will be recognised as the classic it already is. Someone mentioned earlier about the references to the older Le Mans racer style and I have always thought that too. It’s a modern interpretation of that, a sort of ‘celebration’ of Le Mans and sports car racing. And why not, they won the 100th running of Le Mans at the first time of asking after a 50 year absence. That seems worth celebrating and this car does that so well.

As wrote in my previous post, in my opinion I must say I am big fan of this spec. It looking in my eyes very nice. Only one small detial which I definitely add on this spec is low dream lines in red. But overall it is for me very good spec for F80.

I think I would prefer it with black over red, which avoids the problem I mentioned. It’s only important that the owner likes it though and he seems to.

Answering the earlier question, I can’t remember exactly but I think it was well into 6 figures in GBP.

These all carbon cars just lack any contrast and look unfinished to me. I do not understand them at all.

It's not the VIN. It's not in the right format and t's longer than the 17-character VIN anyway.

It's likely a place holder number they use for order tracking. If you have other ordered-but-not-yet-in-production cars, they should have such a number assigned to them as well.

They actually found a way to create a car even uglier than both the SF90 and 12C lol.

Mine starts with 01 and is probably an in-house tracking number. Same thing with another car I have in process. So looks like a way to let the customer know that the car has, at least, been entered into the manufacturing process. But probably nothing more than that.

    Yes, like in F1

F80 = more weight less power.

Fottuti geni, come da 16 anni a questa parte del resto.

Better aerodynamics, all wheel drive for torque vectoring, better suspension, all these will make up for the increase in weight, that is why Ferrari added the extra electric motors, more weight but better performance.

Oh, just incase you are unaware. Ferrari has won more Formula 1 races than McLaren. Ferrari has a total of 248 race wins, while McLaren has 195

Also FYI, Ferrari has achieved a total of 11 overall victories in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and 37 class victories in the endurance race. McLaren has 1.
