I had a completely different experience. For the GTS I was a new customer to the brand and had one of the very first deliveries into the UK. I asked why this was the case and was told this was determined by Maranello not the dealer or any sort of sequencing of orders.

My $0.02 (about what it's worth).

I'm not sure a livery will matter much to resale. There always seems to be a bit of a stir when a non-livery 458 Speciale comes up. They're rare enough that even if the market for them is smaller, it may not impact the value. Total speculation. But I think it's ambiguous. So do what you like. Probably sound advice in either case.

I could imagine numbers not being great for resale - it seems like it makes the car more niche and personalized. But again, speculation on my part.

I'd think carbon will be important for resale. Whether you get 100% of the cost back, I don't know. But I suspect most Speciale buyers will want it on the car.

From what i recall stardale, scud, speciale and pista all had livery and are more sought after for resale than non livery. I also think livery adda to the uniqueness of the special models.

Cs made the most difference imo, but the stripes looked absolutely fantastic on them

I believe the carbon front spoiler and rear diffuser are included in the price of the car. So spend the 10k on the side sills. This car needs it in my opinion.

Found this car on instagram. A few things to note:
1- This looks like a new spec in Rosso Corsa or scuderia possibly. It's not the launch spec as this is a coupe and has stripes.

2- The color looks washed out here because of HDR being messy but it pops in the original pics. The 6th pic is the closest representation, that one didn't get washed out for some reason.

3- this car has the non-carbon rear bumper. I like the homogenous looks of the gloss black since it's abundant on this car. If most carbon parts aren't standard I'd opt for the painted black options and to be frank I think it looks better.

I agree. If the spec has the bi-color roof, the front and rear carbon parts look better in gloss black. you can see an example of what the rear engine cover looks like in gloss black in the speciale A.

I agree that the dark contrast works well with the red. To be fair- CF parts always look much better in person than pictures. It kills me to pay Ferarri premiums for plastic surfaces. CF at least seems special(e). :)

Did you actually purchase it? Or see a quote? People are still being told differently in the US at least.

Purchased it from Twin Cities. I was also quoted the same from Continental M.

Furthermore, after I saw your response I reconfirmed my understanding with the dealer.

    Thanks for posting.
Is the rear diffuser not in CF? Maybe it doesn't show due to resolution? The front spoiler is in CF; hard to imagine the rear is not in CF.

Not the diffuser, but between the taillights. If CF, if covers a wider area, and if left standard, you get more body color in there.

The livery when chosen with numbers leaves a space for the numbers. If you get the standard livery (full stripe), there is no space left for the numbers. Also if you wanted to do numbers on the side would be hard to match the exact silver shade, font, spacing etc.

So if it were me I'd either go ALL IN with stripe + numbers on front + numbers on side or no livery/numbers at all and experiment with aftermarket.

I'm leaning more towards going to go all in with the livery + numbers despite the cost and constraints for resale as it maintains that OEM finish & design and more fitting for a car of this caliber to get a factory job vs aftermarket.

I will go aftermarket stripes because what if you get bored of the numbers etc, and numbers will only suit the first buyer second buyer might want no numbers or other ones. Numbers are also painted which i think is a bit too much.
