I ordered LED bulbs for the 355, they were too long and did not fit.

Have read some old threads on this as well. But in the last six months anyone seen any new LED headlight products come out or done LED headlights and been happy. If so, can you tell me what product they are?

I want to do LED daytime running lights as well. Problem is....

My fog lights, are flashers. They do not stay on, even though my F355 was a US car. They only light up if I am hitting the switch and the switch will not stay on. It flips back to off as soon as I take my finger off the switch.

So thinking since I have clear parking lights, then maybe see if there is anyone here that has had a positive experience with finding LED bulbs for those parking lights. And then using them as daytime running lights.

    Thanks

Are you referring to the fog switch on the forward console? If so, your switch is broken. It should latch whether it be a rear fog or front fog.

I read European spec cars had them as passing lights, where you flick them. That is what my car is doing which is weird as it was a US Spec car and those are supposed to allow you to hit the switch and fog lights should stay on.

All F355's have passing lights (but use the stalk switch pull function). They are activated when the headlight pods are down (i.e. sidelights turned on only).

On the USA cars, they double as front fog lights. Front fogs on the USA cars only operate when the sidelights are on. On Euro cars, the rear fogs only work when the headlights are on (pods up).

Did someone rewire your car? You said you had a rear fog light in your other thread.

I don't think anyone rewired my car. I did speak to my mechanic. He recently converted another F355 over using the fog lights as daytime running. He said because they are on a different relay, it is a pain to do. When I told him my fogs are set up as flashers (euro set up), he was not surprised. Even though he knows it was a US spec car. We'll deal with this later this summer when I can take the car into see him. I may simply update my front parking lights to LED for now, better than what i have currently and my parking lenses are the clear Euro ones, not orange, so should be OK for now.

I'd be interested to know how he did it. I just realised it wasn't as easy as I thought, especially if the lights were to come on with the key. There are no sources of key power near the frunk relay panel.

I will ask him. All he said was something to the effect the fogs are on a different relay. That is was a pain.

Yes, front fog LEDs are the plan, if I can figure out how to get them to stay on. My front fogs act like passing lights, you can only flick them on and off quick to ask people to let you pass. Weird as this is the set up for the fogs in europe by US spec cars would let you keep the fogs on all the time. And my car is a US spec car.

I've sent him a test asking him the strategy. As soon as he replies I will let you know.

The LED Fogs / Turn signals are SO BRIGHT they almost make the headlights redundant...

Are you aware that the USA cars have different lenses and possibly bulbs to Euro cars? You don’t want to blind people with “running lights”.

US fogs still need you to turn in the sidelights, not just the key. Ask your tech if this is his plan (rather than just using the key).

At the moment, I can’t see an easy method of conversion for either control system.

My 1988 Mondial 3.2 is wired up the same: Fog lights are flash to pass lights, the switch on the dash does nothing, wired like a Euro car!
I installed some driving lights behind the lower grill and I use them for daytime driving lights.

With your headlights on, do your rear fogs lights illuminate when you toggle the switch?

Mine is a US car so no rear fog light fitted, they just wired it Euro in the front, LOL! Must have been a Monday or Friday at the factory.
