Evidently McLaren only modified its front wing for new test regime:

Does Aston have a backup driver, or are they just running one car?

 

Just running Fernando in Spain.

 

I wonder why it’s taken so long to address the problem. Perhaps something has aggravated the injury. In any case I hope he’ll be ok to race again.

 

They introduced the wing for FP1 imola but obviously didn't race it, therefore didn't have to to declare it. If there was no performance impact they wouldn't have had it in the first place.

 

Will this create a graceful exit from F1 for Lance?

So what is the purpose of a “reserve” driver ? Stand next to the team principal in case he wants coffee?

 

Yes, odd that Drugovich isn't driving. He is always there.

 

In this instance the reserve driver didn't participate in Qualifying so isn't eligible to race (I think).

 

Still odd. He should be able to participate by starting from pitlane. As long as he has a valid super license.

It was timed and was not a significant change. Lando used it and I posted that 'delta' needed starting this weekend but interesting its not a completely new wing unlike others.

 

The heat will affect most, some more than others.
