Evidently McLaren only modified its front wing for new test regime: —In fact, according to the British team, it was not a new front wing at all, but a slightly modified wing. McLaren claims to have only reinforced the old wing here and there, creating enough margin to comply with the regulations. But the most important thing is obviously the impact on the car. According to McLaren, the impact on performance was 'negligible.' This explains why McLaren is the only team that has not brought any new updates to Barcelona this week.
How convenient and right before the stewards were going to hand him a possible penalty. Lance Stroll will not race tomorrow due to pain in his wrists that he had an accident with in 2023. He will undergo a procedure to rectify these issues.
I wonder why it’s taken so long to address the problem. Perhaps something has aggravated the injury. In any case I hope he’ll be ok to race again.
Apparently and according to the Strolls doctor, this has been occurring for the past 6 weeks. Yeah......
They introduced the wing for FP1 imola but obviously didn't race it, therefore didn't have to to declare it. If there was no performance impact they wouldn't have had it in the first place.
So what is the purpose of a “reserve” driver ? Stand next to the team principal in case he wants coffee?
In this instance the reserve driver didn't participate in Qualifying so isn't eligible to race (I think).
Still odd. He should be able to participate by starting from pitlane. As long as he has a valid super license.
Mercedes isn't going to do well in the race. Not a cloud in the sky. Track temp is up so they will suffer tire degradation the most I believe.
I don't know. I have seen Hulk drive his Porsche while not attending in anything to fill in for Racing Point I believe.
It was timed and was not a significant change. Lando used it and I posted that 'delta' needed starting this weekend but interesting its not a completely new wing unlike others.
