I wish Ferrari would come up with a more aggressive wheel design on this and all their cars as well as the ride height could be more aggressive... one of the wheel designs look like the mission e wheel from from porsche ..... looks great on that car, but not the ferrari - IMHO
Yep, i am aware and they were an option on sthe special models that preceeded the pista as well. My points were from resale stripes matter based on my experience (US market) and second i prefer special models have stripes but to each their own.
hmmmm, allocation ,,,, thoughts ..... if I have not received the call from my dealer, should I assume that I did NOT make the list ???
on the stripe matter.... 1000% agree, that should be from the factor and makes the car special, I hope that have more options on the design... not a fan of the numbers as well, and not a fan of JUST 2 parallel lines with no smaller accent like the pista...
I believe the wheel design you are speaking of is a nod to the F80 wheel design. I liked it in the configurator but after seeing the pictures above where it looks matte instead of glossy black, don't like it as much.
In my extremely unscientific observations, I haven't observed a discount on Speciales without stripes. And I think they have a certain cache. If that's true (it might not be), it implies that liveries aren't a good "investment". If they were, the non-liveried cars would need to sell for a bigger discount than the original cost of the stripes. This doesn't mean you shouldn't get the livery. If I get to spec a Speciale, pretty sure I'm doing stripes. But I'll be doing it for me, not for the next guy.
no stripe, NICE 296, so do you correct them and say... thanks it is a Speciale /// LOL.... the stripe will speak for itself.
There are at least 6+ stripe options if i recall correctly during my visit to the dealer. Their configurator has all the options but the online configurator has only 2 stripe options. There was: 1) A thin stripe 2) 2 stripes with middle empty (like online configurator) 3) 1 wide stripe (like online configurator) 4) Pista style stripe with black or another accent color in the middle 5) Tricolore stripe 6) Wide stripe with edges in black (Like 812 Comp) There were some more but these are all I can recall. Maybe someone who has access to the configurator can share more details here. Then there are numbers on the front + side as well. With all these customisation options, I feel it we will see more differentiated specs compared to previous special editions like Pista as each would likely have a different stripe + number combo in addition to color/wheels etc. Overall a good thing as it increases the uniqueness of each 296VS.
Wouldn't bother me if it was mistaken for a 296. Something to be said for flying under the radar (to the extent that's possible in a Ferrari).
I am not one for a painted black roof, I did my 296 GTS full body color. However, on this car it works really well. Now that they added a black carbon section onto the hood extended from the greenhouse, and larger side skirt/intakes the black roof works really well. I am a convert to a back roof on this version.
From you experience strip matters.....is it the observed selling prices are higher for cars with stripe? Or?
You should ask the dealer. I asked after my buddy who's much higher on the Ferrari food chain was offered one.
You should call and ask them. It probably means you haven't so far been allocated a car, but that can change, and if the past is anything to go by, there will be at least one more round of allocations, so it's a good idea to express your interest.
I believe the livery is just one part. Adding numbers to the front and side are an additional cost. Is that true? or does 12521 euro include livery + numbers on front and side?
I truly don't believe good spec's will be possible for under $600k. Cars will touch $700k all day. Nuts.
Question for you all. Why do some cars have the white circle livery on the sides but no numbers? It's just white blank circle. What's the appeal of this. It looks odd to me but maybe there's something there I'm missing?
From the online configurator, I have the following options with regards to livery & numbers: BOLN - Circles Numbers (25) - 8348 Euro 2NUM - Argento Nurburgring 101/c (Door Numbers) - Included? PN10 - Argento Nurburgring 101/c (Racing Livery Sl) - 12521 Euro 1NUM - Argento Nurburgring 101/c (Number on the Bonnet) - Included? So, the total for all 4 should be ~21k Euro per your information if 1NUM & 2NUM are included.
