Do they have an alternate driver who could have supported their sponsors by running the car today with Lance sidelined?

Lance Stroll, is upset over his qualifying performance, throws a fit within his garage, ignores the driver's weigh in then does not attend the FIA meeting to discuss the infringement. Via media reports, his injury is the reason he did not weigh in or attend the infringement meeting. He is possibly going to have a "procedure" to help with the wrist issue. On the surface an injury would be cause to not attend the above; however, throwing a tantrum (again) in his garage and the subsequent withdrawal to avoid continuing a horrid race weekend cast suspicion over his wrist injury and how it occurred. His home race is next, we all will see if he makes a speedy recovery to race in Canada. The Aston garage is stressful enough but I can't imagine the anxiety team members have to endure with the Lancelot factor adding to each race weekend.

Of course, Lance doesn't blame himself and never will. It's EVERYONE else's fault. It's Lance Stroll vs F1 and F1 is out to get him.

    Please.....

If Lance Stroll goes, I am wondering who the FChat illiminati will choose as the next whipping boy. :(

    Let's assess Lance Stroll's weekend.

New TD has an impact on the balance of the car. If you want the car to steer in the slow speeds, you need to deal with potentially more nervous car in the high speeds. Seems Lance couldn't get a grip on it and was miles off his teammate this weekend.

Lance blows a hissy fit, trashes the garage and completely disrespects the entire team. No punishment but his daddy is the boss.

Team lies about his wrist and pulls him out of the race.

F1 is full of supposed role models and "heros" that people idolize. There can't be a worse example of people to look up to than the Stroll's.

Interesting how Lance is accused of not caring and cruising yet when he throws a fit (which is normally a sign of caring) he is labelled as a spoilt rich kid rather than someone who cares and is passionate. Then again Max routinely trashes his team publicly yet it is ok for him because he is a consistent winner. Just further proof that people will spin any narrative to suit their beliefs and preferences.

We don't know if Lance threw a fit because of "passion" or if it's because of his own frustrations with his inability to drive the car.

There is more than enough examples that show the team does everything for Lance. I mean the team was purchased for Lance to drive in F1. Can't get any bigger example than that. He has a particular tough time handling the car and fails again, are we to assume that response was a rage of passion?

Drivers being frustrated or even critical of the team is nothing new. How many destroy the team's belongings? Then how many would do that without some sort of punishment? I don't know how it can't be perceived as a temper tantrum by a spoiled child.

You mention Max routinely trashes his team publicly. Could you provide some examples of this? Today his team screwed him over and he didn't say a word about it. Instead he said the strategy was good and correct and gave praise the team.

Apparently because Lance tried to qualify the couldn't substitute a driver.
    One car trying for points.
I guess if he'd called in sick they could've run someone else?

Team will be better without him...........finally. If they are serious dump him now. Perfect opportunity. FA is near the end and Lance is not the future. Time to build the driver situation to 'synch' with the new factory and wind tunnel they have. Move forward!

This is a repeat discussion from earlier in the thread, but Max is a 4x defending WDC. His performance justifies any headache he may bring. Stroll has one pole, zero wins and is getting destroyed by his 43 year old teammate. He has no performance with which to justify that behavior. Question on everyone's mind is whether AM is spinning this wrist injury as an ongoing thing or if he actually hurt it throwing a fit after getting beaten by a huge margin in qualifying by his teammate.

The question is whether this is a one time excuse or will the "infirmity" provide Lance with a graceful exit from F1?

    I sure don't hope so.

I think this is a temporary deal. After all they want to see what Newey comes up with next year.

Drugovich will miss LeMans to fill in for the #1 Q1 exits in F1 history should he be not able to race in Canada.

I was surprised that Croftie mentioned this, most in F1 seem to fear the wrath of Lawrence Stroll.

There are very strong rumors on Lance Stroll being moved out of the second car.

Honestly, I find it quite unfair, it's highly unlikely he can do it any worse, so I don't understand showing him the exit door at this point.

I hope he's better at tennis, the other talent it's known he treasures.

If he's as good in tennis as he is driving, he is going to put a show.
